1. Kelowna Owls
2. Vancouver College Fighting Irish
3. Burnaby South Rebels
4. Pitt Meadows Marauders
5. W.J. Mouat Hawks
6. White Rock Christian Academy Warriors
7. Kitsilano Blue Demons (Vancouver)
8. Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam)
9. St. George's Saints (Vancouver)
10. tie -- Walnut Grove Gators
10. -- Sir Charles Tupper Tigers (Vancouver)
Honourable mention -- North Delta Huskies, Claremont Spartans (Victoria), Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs (Vancouver), Oak Bay Bays (Victoria), Argyle Pipers (North Vancouver), Tamanawis Wildcats (Surrey), Byrne Creek Bulldogs (Burnaby), Enver Creek Cougars (Surrey), Steveston-London Sharks (Richmond)

These are Howie's picks and I tend to agree with him. How well the teams play usually depend on how well the upcoming juniors fill the gaps of the existing Senior teams. VC and WRC junior players may help move their teams up in the rankings, I can see VC as the favourite once the season starts. Kelowna and South both had good junior teams, but only need 2-3 players to fill roles, the rest will come off the bench.

Since Manroop is moving to prep school next year, South will probably be 5-10 all year.

st. georges might be up there with the best next year. They had a young squad this year and the experience should do them good.

No way South is better than some of those teams without Manroop, no way Enver is that high neither is Churchill. No W.J Mouat?
Hmm your take on BCHSBB for next year seems interesting.

Good to see Churchill being ranked so high up. But with a young squad of mostly grade 11 I’m not sure if they can back it up. Besides, I think they desperately need a center. Although this group found some success in junior varsity as Vancouver District Champion but they didn’t really perform all that well in the provincial.

Didn’t someone mention that Manroop is leaving Burnaby South? He’s such an impact player that I think it’ll change the face of that team without him. I’ll put them outside of top ten without Manroop.

Lefon, you're wrong. Churchill isn't a young squad made up of mostly grade 11's. The only impact players I can say that will make the team would be Mindy, Matt, Nathan, and Marco. Other than that it's all seniors. And once again, I don't actually think you've seen Churchill play, junior or senior ball. Churchill has 2 big men going into grade 12 who are 6'4 + not to mention mindy who has got to be at least 6'4 and can play center.

I’m just saying there’s no indication from last year’s varsity team that Churchill is worthy of being ranked #8. You don’t just stick a team in the top ten out of nowhere. However, they did have a good showing from their junior last year. I still don’t think they have a center; 6’4” are no centers! I’m not trying to knock down Churchill but to be ranked #8 you have to somehow prove it.

Howard's Mar. 2010 and Nov. 2010 pre-season ranking and where they finished.

March 2010

1. Burnaby South - 7
2. RC Palmer - 1
3. Van College - 2
4. Kitsilano - 13
5. Terry Fox - 3
6. South Kam - DNQ
7. Charles Tupper - 6
8. WJ Mouat - 4
9. Yale - DNQ
10. Claremont - DNQ
11. Gleneagle - 15
12. Pitt Meadows - 5
13. Tamanawis -10
14. Byrne Creek -DNQ
15. Dover Bay - 13

November 2010.

1. Burnaby South Rebels - 7
2. R.C. Palmer Griffins (Richmond) - 1
3. Vancouver College Fighting Irish - 2
4. Terry Fox Ravens (Port Coquitlam) - 3
5. Kitsilano Blue Demons (Vancouver) - 13
6. Kelowna Owls - 9
7. Claremont Spartans (Victoria) - DNQ
8. Sir Charles Tupper Tigers (Vancouver) - 6
9. W. J. Mouat Hawks (Abbotsford) - 4
10. Yale Lions (Abbotsford) - DNQ

Honourable mention --

South Kamloops Titans
Argyle Pipers - 17
Pitt Meadows Marauders - 5
Gleneagle Talons - 15
Tamanawis Wildcats - 10
Byrne Creek Bulldogs

Howard hit 3 of the top 5 in both his March and Novenber rankings. I'm guessing not too many people were expecting Burnaby to lose to Mouat at the provincials or he would have nailed four of the top five teams. Sub par years by Kits and more so Yale, and a Pitt team that over achieved were about the only things that were not accounted for in his rankings

Hardly "rubbish".

VC will have a tough time handling teams w/ strong big men. VC lacks a strong center but will still win a lot games on their speed, defense and discipline coaching. Look for Pitt and WRCA to move the ranks as the season comes to a close.

Your picks on Sept.01 2010.

Quote :
Vc , Palmer , south
Vc , best chemistry of any team they work hard and can play inside and out
palmer got the 3 provincial players nd Hare who will come in nd grab every board in his path
south athletic and has a good inside game with edwards and irvine nd with ater running the point they should be good
other teams
pitt , yale , argyle , kits - not in that order same with the top 3

No Mouat and then Yale, Argyle and Kits...and you picked South (not in the top three)...same misses as Howard.

The point is, it is hard to come up with a top 10 pre-season based on where the team finished, the players they lost, and the players coming up and when combined with the fact that you do not get to see all teams play it makes predicting a guessing game.

You can call it hype I suppose but you cannot base your predictions on anything but educated guesses as the amount of fact you have to deal with is too small a factor.

Here's what i think rankings are for next season..

1. Vancouver College- Isaiah and Cole returning, leads to a strong back court...wonder how abubakar khan will play this year as well.

2. Kelowna- I heard Bunce as improved immensley from last year, he was on JMNT which without a doubt helped his game, throw in Goodwin and thats a solid combo.

3. St. Georges- Having everyone return (except 1 player) they will be a very strong team next year. Milan, Sajen, and Braeyden and Deklan plus role players..they'll be a team to look out for.

4. WRCA- They have very strong juniors coming up. With Jake Newman as the leader of this hard working team look out!

5. Pitt Meadows- Trevor and Blackaby returning with some pretty strong junios as well, they be a tough team to face next year.

6. Sir Charles Tupper- With Cam as the centre and Daniel Kim running the point, they'll be very strong next year as well. They will shock a few teams next year.

7. Burnaby South- With the lose of the best player in the province, being Manroop Claire, they still have Nick, Quentin, George Kovac and a decent junior team. With their coach Matic leaving..that will actually help them.

8. Kitslilano- Burton, Luka Bazooka, Dawson, and Stewan. They will be a pretty good team. i can see them being a very streaky team though.

9. Terry Fox- With chambers as the coach, the team could be filled with a bunch of scrubs and his team would still compete. They actually have some not bad players such as Ryan Sclater this year, so they will compete with the best.

10. Tamanawis- Solid players returning such as Rav, Manny. They will have an ok year.

11. Delta- With Lucas at the point running the show there and some not bad juniors moving up..who knows what could happen.

12. Walnut Grove- Always well coached they will have a mediocre year.

13. Enver Creek- I have heard they will be strong next year? Can't wait to see.

14. Point Grey- Mavety leading this guard filled team should be interesting.

15. Argyle- Kaelan Wild and Cole Faminoff return for this lanky team. They will make provincials from out of the weak North Shore league.
