Good to see there is actual basketball talk on here so far this year and not too much trash talk. As far as a defense to stop Moffit, box and one and double him in the paint, did that when I coached against him and he never scored over 20 either game.

Grand manan is definetly stronger than they have been in awhile, not sure they are top 3 yet, but until they play a strong A team and win I can't really put them top 3, I don't think Mcadam has beaten any strong competition yet either.

Exciting year ball, I hope to get out to a few more games before santa gets here!

Exactly....I have never coached against him and i figured the box and 1 out just by watchin them play.

The challenge with Moffit is finding the right person to chase him in the box and one. For his height he has decent speed (New Brunswick speed -- not to be confused with Ontario speed). So you need to find a kid with decent height and speed to chase him. He can shoot over a short guard chasing him.

I think you want him to be posting up and then double him. He is better coming of the wing.

Girls
-----
1. Harvey
2. Caledonia
3. John Caldwell
4. Grand Manan
5. Tobique
6. Stanley
7. Hartland
8. Campobello

I'd say this is pretty accurate. Good luck Smile

I'm all for sharing opinions and starting conversation, but you would find more solid evidence for Elivs being alive then to support GM @ 4. How do they beat #1 - 2 by 20+ points and get ranked behind them. If you want to say they haven't played JC and feel they're a better team that's one thing, but there's no results that support GM being that low.

1- GM
2- JC
3- TV
4- Harvey
5- Caledonia
6- Nackawick
7- Stanley
8- I don't know and it really doesn't matter

My understanding is that Nackawic is "AA". Not single "A"

I think TV will be stronger than a lot of you think. They learned a lot last year joining up with the girls who won Aitken and from the coach. They have good size and shooting. They also recently came 2nd in a tournament with only 8 of their players, and beat Hartland by 30 missing two of their starting line up. Dont count them out of it just yet

I AGREE.

Under the alignments for the next 3 years Nackawic is A.

Only AA schools with girls basketball programs: Sugarloaf, Dalhousie , Southern Victoria, CNHS, ESA, St. Stephen, Fundy, Rothesay, RNS (A but applied to come up to AA girls), JMA, Bonar Law, Tantramar

Jack, you are clueless when it comes to knowing anything about this. First of all, GM beat Harvey by 30, Caledonia by 18+, and in both of these games, they rolled thier bench fom start to finish. Caldwell beat Harvey by double digits. Caledonia beat Harvey as well. I admit, Caldwell, GM, and Tobique are hard to stack up against each other, because they haven't played each other, but Harvey and Caledonia ahead of them all....which of these 2 towns are you from?
Hard to respect anything you post from now on, really.....go take a nap.

I agree Jack is way off the mark on GM, however I was at the Harvey JCS game and it was anybodys game until the last two minutes.Based on what I saw, those teams played very even.Harvey lost to Caledonia by one at thier own tournament if my memory is right, and that also could have gone either way.I think GM leads the pack, but the next fews teams are very even at this point.Grand Manan may be able to be beat by another A team, but unlikely in my opinion.I have seen them play twice and only weakness I would say is depth and their defence at that time seemed shaky. The way they score, that may not matter.

Heard both teams had foul trouble but more so for Devon Park. They were also missing a starter as well. Good win for GM though.

what about belleisle now? i know what you are all going to say, "they havent played any top teams yet but they stand at the top of the east and something should be said about that? also, they have not played petitcodiac and i hear rumors of Matt Pickett scoring 40+ a game... not sure if they are true, but i do not believe petitcodiac will be able to handle belleisle's big center.

So as it seems, Coachjack has given up on his attempts at doing rankings, I will continue with mine. Here we go :

Boys
------
1. Harvey
2 .McAdam
3. Grand Manan
4. Devon Park
5. John Caldwell
6. Hartland
7. Peti
8.Campobello

Girls
-----
1. Grand Manan
2. John Caldwell
3. Caledonia
4. Harvey
5. Tobique
6. Stanley
7. Hartland
8. McAdam

A few changes again, I am sure next week, there will be a few more.

I would probably say a healthy Campo boys team is at least 5th. Girls there might be some shuffling at the bottom from game to game but the top seems to be pretty well fixed for now.

I would agree about the healthy Campo, but until then, they are playing like an 8/9.

So Devon Park boys beat McAdam last night, everything is just a coin flip in this division, Harvey seems to be the top dog, but everybody has lost to somebody else except GM, but they haven't played anyone except DP. Can't say things aren't interesting!

Difficult to go by the Devon Park victory. Don't think the big boys played, Harrington, Paget, Moffit. Could be wrong though?

I would say Devon Park is 2nd and McAdam 4th, McAdam hasn't really done a whole lotto impress me, yes I know Moffitt is out but still, haven't seen it. Other than that it looks spot on at this point.

Belleisle I don't see as a top 8 team, they play an incredibly weak schedule and their big guy can only do so much, if they win against any real competition they will surprise me.
