Chongo, I haven't seen much OBA ball so I guess I am missing out.

When and where is the Vetrie?

Does not Tuosgas (sp) run an OBA programme out of North Bay?

The Vetrie happens in the Soo in the first week of February! This year we had two prep schools from the US, a few "AAAA" schools from the GTA and a lot of great schools from the north and south-western Ontario. I have always been curious as to why no North Bay teams do not come. Timmins comes every year!

Chongo, you are correct. West Ferris is hosting AA ofsaa next year and yes they do run a OBA program after the high school season is over. I also believe that Alqonquin is hosting "A" OFsaa next year, which should mean that the "AA" will have all out of town officials.

How does one city get two different OFSAA championships awarded to it in the same year. From my direct experience they could not from an officiating sense handle "A" and "AA" NOSSA! The refs were just brutal there this past weekend! Evil or Very Mad

I guess they must not have had too many other schools who wanted to host an ofsaa. The "AA" was awarded a year or two ago year, but the "A" was only granted to algonquin earlier this year.

As for quality northern tournaments, the tomahawk is big, but the quality of competition is some what weak. If I remember from this year out of the 32 seniors teams less than 8 were competitive at a high level. Anderson from Whitby has head and shoulders above everyone this year.

Yes and that Anderson team from the Tomahawk has qualified for AAA OFSAA.

I checked the OFSAA website and NOSSA does have the right to host "A" and "AA" next year. WILD!

They are seeded 6th and 7th respectively ... and either club can beat the 2-5 seeds and give STA a respectable match as well ... AA is going to be a great tourney.
