I can see why you're a bit upset about Bakers article, but he's always had a tough love attitude. Not too sure what Speedy said in his article to upset you.

I wondered about the articles, these are the ones I read, I see nothing wrong with what either coach said.

Nothing in either article was trashing, in my opinion.

I agree coachmac, I didn't see anything in the articles that I would deem as "trashing". Some teams prefer to handle these things within the locker room, but other teams will use the media as a way to get to players.

If the AD doesn't have a problem with it, then I don't see why anyone would be upset by either of those articles.

Read both.

I see nothing but some honesty by each coach about their programs and players. I probably would not have said what Baker directs at Daley to the media (seems more like inner circle/ team meeting material to me) but that being said I don't think any of it is out of line for university athletes.

I agree with everyone else....nothing wrong with theses articles. Most young men in university probably need to 'grow up'.

Here is my Brent Baker story....in the summer of '85 I attended Acadia basketball camp and Brent was my coach for the week. He was outstanding, I never had so much fun at a camp as I had that week. He told us that he tried out for the National team...after various workouts, there was one spot left. It came down to Brent and another guard. They were basically even in every aspect, the coaching staff could not decide who to take...so they had a 'shootoff' for the last spot........and Brent lost.

Too bad they had the "shootoff" a guard vs forward. Shooting wasn't Brents bread and butter in university.
