What is this?? No Ross Shep, no Western Can., no Raymond, no Bert Church, no ABJ., no O'Leary, no Okatoks?? What has happened to the face of Alberta High School basketball? Have other schools caught-up, or are these other programs just weaker?

Raymond graduated a lot of our best players, we have a new coach, and one of best players has had a sprained ankle.
Just keep thinking we are not that good!!!

right now - quinn is out for Raymond - he is a very good inside player and provincial calibre player
- this will make them better - so dont sleep on raymond

Shep lost their best player (Jada) to Vancouver and are extremely young - they will be a power again next year and the nest 2-3 after

Oleary is right there - some of their best players have been hurt this year - and will be back after xmas
they are also very young and will be strong for years to come

Foothills is young and will be strong like the team they had 5 years ago with noble crowfoot

Bert Church however - is in some trouble - they arent that strong and dont really have any standout gr 10's

Western is still a quality team - they just dont have the depth they have had in years path - its tough when you lose 8-9 players forma provincial finalist team - they will be back by the end of the year and still have a good program - so they along with teams like shep, oleary, raymond, foothills will always have good teams

Ainlay appears to be a solid pick as the number one ramked team in alberta Basketball ...After that it appears to be a crap shoot lol! as many teams feel they have a legit shot at breaking into the top 10 ....some teams just made it in on an early win or 2 but time and tourneys will certainly tell the tale ... however, with all the stops and starts it is very hard to get on a roll in the season almost 3 distinct phases of the season ...... bounce

I do not see many changes happening at all. Most of the top teams have yet to play each other and some teams have yet to play anyone of any caliber since the first ranking. Don't ecpect to see many chages until mid February rankings.

What's happend to Scona up in Edmonton? HA Titans beat them in regular season play over the weekend by over 40 points...without KP.

I was there and can tell you that Scona doesn't have much of a bench to begin with. Their starters are pretty good, and that's where the difference is. Also, Scona didn't defend against Ainlay's 3 point shooting. Ainlay hit at eight 3's in the first half and around that many more in the second half. I don't think Scona even hit any 3's in the game though they only attempted a few.

If Kyle Peterson had been there, it would have been a complete disaster for Scona. Scona will do well this season in a weak Edmonton league, but I don't see them doing much if they make it to Provincials.

What happened to Scona is that Ainlay has a very good, very deep team, with or without KP, and Scona tried to play a zone against a team that can bomb away from the outside. Not that it would have mattered, if Ainlay moves the ball like they can, and defends like they can, there isn't a team in Edmonton Public that is going to touch them. I guess that's why they're ranked #1. Maybe SFX or PK can give them a run when it comes time for zone qualifications.
