PostSubject: Tier 1 to Tier OFSAA transfer rules   Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:17 pm

If you are an athlete/ basketball player at a tier 1 school and you transfer at the end of the 2012 year, would you be able to play the following year ? (in 2013) . What about a tier OFSAA school ? I hear that Tier OFSAA is unlikely but Transferring from a tier 1 school to another Tier 1 school and being able to play that year is possible ? If anybody has solid info that would be very helpful.

The NCSSAA Constitution reads:

IN ALLSPORTS'ACTIVITIES (including exhibition games/tournaments/meets/competitions/events) THAT LEAD TO OFSAA CHAMPIONSHIPS ALL STUDENT-ATHLETES MUST BE ELIGIBLE UNDER THE OFSAA TRANSFER RULE.

So transferring to a tier 1 school should be fine but transferring to an OFSAA class school would force you to sit out a season unless you meet one of the waiver conditions.
