69-64 Harvey.

Harrington was huge for Dp but they needed someone else to be a legit option. Harvey went to work on the boards and hit clutch free throws late.

Anyone think Rogers needs to find some different people to call the game? Harvey was down like 7 points and they need to start taking 3s to catch up? I don't think they realised that Harvey has beaten DP before until the last few minutes of the half. Surely they could find a couple people that actually follow "A" basketball in the province.
Great game live and slightly soiled on TV by really bad announcing. A - learn the player's names and how to pronounce them, B - do some background on the teams, C - if one announcer has watched tons of bball, why couldn't he figured out what McAloon was doing with his sub pattern at the end. Don't make asinine comments that question a coach's moves if you don't have a clue, D - much like last year, find someone familiar with both teams to announce. Congrats to both teams for an entertaining game and kudos to Harvey on the win.

E - Shoot person with the annoying air horn sitting next to announcers table. Between him and the announcers I had to watch the game with the mute on

Dear Rogers,
Just because you have replay technology doesn't mean you have to use it in the middle of play. There are numerous whistles during a game of basketball that offer excellent opportunities to show a replay. Nothing is more frustrating than you flashing to a replay while the play is ongoing and then have the "live" crowd react to something or have the "announcers" say beautiful play that we at home all miss. Please stop being like a kid with a new toy and think about your viewers.

If this was Facebook I would "like" this comment. It is so true!

AA Girls - 79-57 RHS wins. To much solid shooting, too much scoring by the Redhawks. RNS had a solid game plan of attacking the rim and pounding the ball inside trying to put RHS in foul trboule and limit their agression at both ends. In the end too little offense vs very skilled RHS squad.

AA Boys - SSHS 87 -72. St. Stephen wins the AA title and day with dominant play on the boards, almost 50 percent shooting as a team and offensive explosion giving them 51 points at half time. They played with energy and made shots early putting Woodstock in foul trouble and keeping them on their heals. Woodstock tried to make the game more scrambly in the 2nd half which cooled the SSHS offense getting a close as ten before clutch free throw shooting and a dominant performance by Devin Elsmore on the boards sealed it for SSHS.

Black Kats take home the girls title. 68-47 in a game that wasn't even as close as the score might say. Riverview made some shots late in the 4th to break 20% shooting in a game where they were down close to 30 at half time.

Great win for the Black Kats who's size controlled the game at both ends. Riverview shot poorly and had to force attempts over big help in the paint once outside shots wouldn't go.

Little sad that clearly the two best high school girls teams in the province put up a bit of a snoozer. By far the least exciting and energetic game of the weekend.

So, Rogers has the scores backwards for the KV/FHS game. Excellent.

In fairness to Riverview girls, they lost a starter early in the game (knee injury?), and FHS shot the lights our in the first half. Riverview were winning the second half until their starters started to foul out. Agreed that the game never got close, but I felt Riverview girls played very energetically, but were out sized, out coached, and out manned. Their guards played very aggressive defence but they had no answer for McLeod and Appleby inside.

No disrespect intended to the Riverivew girls who played hard. You are right, the injury and early hot shooting by FHS took the wind from their sails early. Fredericton dictated that pace of play with their size and skill. The Riverview girls did a great job of playing hard on the perimeter but could never change the pace or momentum of the game.

Riverview kids battled hard but whether it was injuries, fouls, poor shooting, the moment, the pace of play never got FHS out of control or off plan. Personally felt like once they were down at half the needed to try to open the game up rather then trying to grind with FHS and go with a higher risk/reward strategy (similar to what the WHS boys tried to do in their game). May be that they don't that in their repetoire or the coach felt it wouldn't be effective vs FHS with their injury and foul trouble. Regardless it was a very poor shooting day for them a tough way for all those seniors to end end otherwise great high school careers.

Any thoughts on the last 2 foul calls on Nissen?

No comment on the fouls called, but it was annoying to watch Nissen complain after every foul. Perhaps that is what motivated the last one. I think he deserved at least one technical so I think he was even over all. A great player like Nissen has to learn to roll with the punches.
