4 and 5 seeds should meet on the Monday. I wonder how many times Tamanawis and WRCA have played this year?

Im pretty sure theyve played 3 or 4 times Tammy won the rcmp final and league game while wrca won the last divisional final. Not sure if there was a fourth or not.

Does anyone know if Tristian Etienne is playing? And a couple of weeks ago Glenage beat Mouat 38-36 is there any chance of an upset again?

This was an exhibition game! Starters Played about five minutes. Mouat played their 11,12,13,14,15 players off the bench in the second half. They have been doing this all year! Tristen, Cam, And all their starters will be back for the FV and Provincials. Could there be an upset sure... But not likely in this game. Mouat's record says nothing about this team.

Looking forward to this next 10 days should be some great basketball

Teams to watch for Centennial - very tough well coached team that can surprise
Ridge - outside chance but will have to play the looser of Fox/ Mouatt for there play off lives

7/8 place game looks to me to be Centennial vs Yale and i give the edge to Centennial as i think Yale is a year or 2 from getting back in to contention

Surrey region WRCA & Tammy should make it in ...all the rest - you need to put some of the big boys in your mix before you can get any respect

good luck to all

Ridge is indeed in tough. The way I read it though, somehow they have to shutdown Tweedsmuir ridiculously good offense and then they are rewarded with WRCA in second game, and will then have to get past thier new friends Sardis to just get to Langley to play Fox or Moaut!

I wish them all the best as I woould love to see another "North" team in the provincials.

The Valleys will be a great ride for the 7 berths up for grabs. The round of 32 has the potential for some good upsets:

#15 Delta will be in tough vs. #18 Heritage Woods. Each team has a dominant player that can almost single-handidly win this game.
#14 Elgin Park vs #19 Abby Collegiate. Full credit to Elgin for a huge upset win in league playoff, but Abby is a tough team from a very tough league
#13 Maple Ridge vs #20 Lord Tweedsmuir. If Tweeds finds the form they had in early January then look out. Ridge's defense will be tested here.
#12 Sardis vs #21 Fleetwood Park. Fleetwood has had a down year, but they are seemingly always tough in the valleys and have some leftover talent from their run to the Provincials last year. Sardis is a big question mark. No one knows much about them. Sure they beat Ridge in the playoffs, but are they legit?

Inn't he injured? I heard on here somewhere that he had a pretty serious surgery.

The Valley format is exciting..and I love that it's very inclusive. But, it's so risky to the top teams if they have one bad game. Has any top 8 Valley team ever had their season end in the first round of the Valley's??

From pictures, tweets and Facebooks posts I believe Tristan will be back. And I totally agree with this post; Mouat is a very good team that has been spreading minutes.

When I watched them at the semi-final of thier tournamemnt I saw a team than would struggle to get out of the first round of the Valleys. When I watched them with a small rotation at the Legal Beagle I saw a team that can compete with any FV team, any night of the week.

A few notes before i make my first round predictions Trist and Cam will be playing I do hope they ease Trist into it the first couple games any time you come back from an surgery like that you will need time to adjust.
Walnut grove- Paul getz is back playing at 100% so look for them to be strong. Tamanawis- Shivi will also be back playin after early scare in league final glad to see he didnt have a concussion an look for tammy to bounce back strong

First round

Pitt over Bateman by 30

Walnut over Sullivan by 25

Fox over Matheson by 40

WRCA over Kwantlen Park by 25

Tammy over QE by 30

Yale over Charles best by 15

Centenniel over Port Moody by 10

North delta over Chilliwack by 15

My upset Special Seaquam by 3 over PM

Sardis by 8 over Fleetwood

Upset Lord tweedsmuir by 5 over Maple ridge

Abby upsets Elgin by 10

Delta over heritage woods by 8

Clayton heights over South Delta by 5

The games i have upsets on could go either way just thought itd be fun as those are all quality teams and who knows maybe a top 10 seed will get knocked off first round could happen with us as chilliwack is a tough squad let the fun begin!

Totally Agree Charles best has some players could see them pulling an upset and port moody can get hot from the outside Sardis big man might cause trouble for fleetwood as they are thin in the front court

Fraser Valley games start tonight.

It is amazing how important seeding is early

I expect the top seven to hold court but having seen #25 Charles Best compete against Pitt Meadows earlier this year, believe they should be able to give 38 Yale all they can handle.

I would expect the top seven seeds to hold on Friday as well and it is Monday when we could see a few shake ups.

Barring huge upsets #3 Terry Fox and #6 Mouat will meet, as they feel the pain early in the tourney, the repurcussions of losing thier league playoff title games. Last year Mouat kind of limped into the playoffs and we saw what they did as they won the valleys and headed to the final four at Langley. Not too sure they can do it again but all year they have been talked about as a top tier team. Monday they will get a chance to prove it.

Also Monday, #4 WRCA and #5 Tamanawis should be playing each other yet again. At some point these two teams are plain not going to like each other and I expect this to be the first epic battle of the Fraser Valleys. The location I expect will be White Rock and that gym can rock like no other! I have a big decision to make whether to watch my hometeam Pitt or make the venture to South Surrey for this one. So tough a game!

Good luck to all teams and to all fans, grab a friend as you head out the to the games and tell them to tell a friend as well. We have the best basketball in BC out here in the Valley so lets get out and support it!

First scores are coming in game #1 score is in #16 South Delta 67 vs #17 Clayton Hts.65
So delta squeaks one out
And we got our first big upset of the tourney #9 Centennial 63 vs #24 Port Moody 71
Let the madness begin!!!
