Not much in the way of upsets other than Yale losing to Johnston Heights. Looks like Delview had a close call vs. Sullivan Heights as well. I think the Fleetwood/Mouat game and the Fox/Pitt games should be entertaining.

Any second round upset predictions? You can usually count on one or two every year!

I see maybe Tweeds and Pitt as possible spoilers, I know Tweeds has some real good guards who really compete and if Fox has an off game I see Pitt taking it from them.

And don't sleep on JH vs Walnut Grove, i know Grove has a great team but JH could be filming their own version of "Cinderella" Lol

Pitt came out shooting the lights outs and build a lead that lasted until the 4th. Fox stormed back but two timely 3 pointers by Pitt were the difference late in the 4th.

A very exciting game!

Why was Pitt ranked so low at #14? This game is more of a quarter/semi finals game. Not a second round game.

Pitt was ranked way too low and Fox was probably ranked a little to high. But these things happen with you get a room full of egos voting on the seeding.

Yale, Tweedsmuir and Sardis had no business being seeded ahead of Pitt. Fox should have been a 5/6 seed.

The Heritage pick was more based on the match up. The game went to OT, and HW would have won in regulation if not for an "and 1" with 12 seconds left by Pitt.

Fox wasn't as deep as I thought they were. Injuries played a part in that I believe.

Fox had one player in a boot. That's all the injuries I saw.. 22rebel, how can you say Fox is ahead of Pitt the day after they were knocked out by them?

Not making excuses for Fox. Pitt was the better team in the game yesterday. Should have been higher than a 14 seed.

Well it happens every year - not an exact science and egos/politics play a role. Have to admit I figured that the political aspect might work more in Pitt's favour rather than against in seeding, only because Pitt has had such a strong program for so long I assumed they'd tend to get the benefit of the doubt in cases like this. I too was surprised that Pitt was #14.

Still not sure I see a team that can knock off Gleneagle, but it only takes one off game I suppose. Matchups will play a huge role from here on in. MEI seems strong and are disciplined, when Tammy gets hot from the 3 point line they're hard to slow down. Should be entertaining the rest of the way. Good luck to the remaining 8 teams!

Gleneagle over Walnut grove by 4 pts in an overtime. Tough loss for Gators. We were not lucky enough to get calls and in spite of losing two of our key players Lucas and Varun who got fouled out in the regulation time itself, we gave concerted efforts but fell short by 4. Congratulations to Gleneagle.

Final standings: Gleneagle, Walnut Grove, MEI.

All stars:

Grant Galbraith MVP - Gleneagle
Varun Kumar- Walnut Grove
Bryce Derton - Walnut Grove
Cordel Parker - gleneagle
Nimrit - Panorama ridge
Player with jersey (23) from MEI.

We, walnut gators, have played few teams this week in the fv championships. I must admit that if there is an award for the best sportsmanship award, it must be given to Pitt meadows junior team and its coach. The players have played their hearts out and even in the defeat they exhibited such a class. The coach and the assistant coach are class act. I think it all starts from the coaches and percolates down.
