Matthew Goroza played and started on Gleneagle's Junior Boys' team. Very underrated, athletic, great rebounder. In the two most important statistical categories of basketball success as they relate to plus possessions, Matthew Goroza can single handedly change a game with his ability to offensive rebound and generate extra possessions.

I will spare you the long answer. The short answer is that he is excited to play for BC this summer at the Nationals. The Drive and Basketball BC schedules overlap and it is not possible to play both.

Ebe are you able to comment on the play of Gary Gladstone? He was the Native boy who came from Bella Bella for the tryouts. I'm surprised he didn't make the cut. Thanks...

I believe Doug Dowell who was an Assistant Coach on last years U14 White Team is coaching U14 again this year, not sure who else, as I know Vlad Nikic who head coached U14 White last yr is Assisting with the U17's this year, And Anthony Pezzente who head coached U14 Blue is not coaching for the BC Team this yr.

Wei Chung-Walnut Grove,
Reilly Braich-WA Fraser Middle,
Lambert Pajayon-Winston Churchill,
Noah Charles-Brentwood College.

Wow, that Churchill team truly is stacked. 3 Drive Elite players and a Basketball BC player. incredible.

I wonder how well this team will mature.

It's official. Drive's "elite" teams have surpassed Basketball BC's. Drive's u14,u15,u16,u17 teams would all destroy Basketball BC's. Seems like every other kid who tried out for drive and didn't make their elite or premier teams are making Team "BC". I compare Drive's U14 team and Basketball BC's u14 team and its a joke. Kids who are on that u14 BC team would have no business making the team if they were in the grad class of 2012, or 2011, 2010, etc. I am quite astonished at how Drive has taken all of BC's elite players and pried them away from bbc.

The Drive Elite U16 and U14 teams are both extremely talented groups of kids who have all been playing with Drive probably since before High School, making it less likely for those kids to try out BBC at the U14 age, Drive sends U10s-U17s to many more tounaments in the States making it more glamorous for kids who want to test their abilities against top notch North American competition.
There is a good arguement the U17 Drive team minus the 12th Gr. Players (i.e. Manroop, Cam) would be in tough against a talented U17 BBC team with Madewan, Petkovic and Ruttenberg.
And the Drive U15 with only Jermaine Hailey amd Nick Trnicic (Sans Scott who is playing with BBC this year) would probably lose to the BBC U15 Blue team which is loaded with Quinn Bennett-Boire, Taylor Browne, Ethan Scott, Cordell Parker and Josh Charles

A bit late notice, but for those interested, the BC U15s take on Athelite U17s at 10 am tomorrow (Saturday the 28th) at the Langley Events Centre. Later that day, at 4pm, they play the Walnut Grove Senior team. I don't know if there will be much seating, but there will only be a few people there (mostly parents). Should be a good couple games.
