TEAM ON 111 over TEAM BC 53
Final Score

Wow, I couldn't bare to open my eyes watching this, ON just put a drubbing on BC, too much speed, too much athleticism, too much everything. BC Guards could barely get the ball past half court against ON guard pressure, this one was a rout.

Elijah Hillis-Gold 13 pts (3-4 3pt) 1 reb
Montell Lindgren 8 pts 1 reb 1 ast 2 stl 1 blk
Jesse Mushiana 6 pts 3 reb 1 blk

Key stats:
Pts off Turnovers 43(ON)-0(BC)
Pts in the Paint 54(ON)-14(BC)
Turnovers 36(BC)-14(ON)
Rebounds 54(ON)-20(BC)

Semi Final Game
MB 88 over BC 76
Final Score

Tough loss for BC, back and forth all game, turnovers (BC 24- MB 13) and points off those turnovers (BC 9 - MB 20) seemed like the difference.

Alex Hart 26 pts 15 reb 1 stl 4 blk
Jordan Charles 13 pts 3 reb 3 ast 1 stl
Jamie Madewan 12 pts 2 reb 1 ast
Montell Lindgren 7 pts 5 reb 5 ast 2 stl
Elijah Hillis-Gold 7 pts 8 ast 1 stl

Bronze Medal Game
BC 74 over QU 73
Final Score

Great game, BC controlled the first half up 14 at the break. QU made a valiant 2nd half comeback pressing the BC guards into turnovers and mistakes. BC's JJ Pankratz hitting some big 3's inlcuding the winner with .44 left in the game.

Alex Hart 19 pts 11 reb 1 ast
JJ Pankratz 16 pts (4-6 3pt) 3 reb
Montell Lindgren 13 pts 6 reb 3 ast 2 stl
Matt Hampton 13 pts 1 reb 1 stl

Congrats to TEAMBC U17 on a great effort, well deserved Bronze medal finish at this years nationals.

PostSubject: U17 Format Changes   Sun Aug 05, 2012 5:33 pm

Congrats to U17s earning the bronze. The new format of 18 players is, in my opinion, a good change. More work for the coaches managing two teams in every tournament, but more kids developing and lot of pt leading up to the nationals. The big mistake they made was choosing a top 9 at the end of tryouts. What is the point? Play the games and after your final tune-up, pick your top 12 to go to nationals. Keeps everyone competing in practice and games because they have to earn a spot. Also helps coaches avoid bad decisions. No better tryout than five tournaments and weeks of practice to determine who is going to give you the best shot at nationals.

Important win for BC as these results set up the draw for next years Canada Games. The bronze will help us avoid a potential semi-final match-up with Ontario. I see on the box score that Madewan only played 5 minutes in the first quarter does anybody know if he had an injury?

You might want to check his tournament stats to get your answer.

Apparently Jamie had shin splints all tournament long and the coaches shut him down in the bronze medal game.
