PostSubject: Churchill over rated.    Sun Dec 09, 2012 4:10 pm

To be a 1-2 team you need defense. Churchill really lacks defense. Poor showing lasting night by Churchill, they lack defensive skills and took poor shots. A couple of players tried to get things going but its a team game and not a lot of leadership on the team. BOB and Grandin should be 1-2 in Calgary.

Rankings are out. Great job on the top 6 but things go south after there. HA honourable mention, they are 0-3 on the season, how do you rank a team with no wins??????

2012-13 First Ranking

1 Bishop O'Byrne, Calgary
2 Bishop Grandin, Calgary
3 Cardston High, South
4 St. Francis Xavier, Edmonton
5 Jasper Place, Edmonton
6 Sir Winston Churchill, Calgary
7 Archbishop O'Leary, Edmonton
8 Medicine Hat High, South
9 Ross Sheppard, Edmonton
10 Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, South

Honorable Mentions (alphabetical order)
Bev Facey Community, Edmonton
Bishop McNally, Calgary
Foothills Composite, South Central
Harry Ainlay, Edmonton
St. Mary's, Calgary

No surprises at the top other than how low Sir Winston Churchill dropped with 1 loss. Lots of surprises at the bottom. I think Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and Medicine Hat High will climb up the rankings as they settle in.

I was also surprised to see 4 edmonton teams in the top ten and the fact that Churchill would drop all the way to six after 1 lose. I don"t know everything that goes into the ranking process or who is on the ranking committee but I guess they have more information than I do and have things in place to ensure unbiased assessments of all teams Basketball Basketball Basketball

Oh, four Edmonton teams. the sad thing is that the only team that has a chance to win is JP and St. FX. The rest of the E-Town teams suck. This has to be the sorriest Ross Shep team in history and O'Leary, well they are and always will be O'Leary which should be known as the biggest underachieving boy's basketball program in the history of edmonton boy's basketball. The unfortunate thing is that the Spartans will continue to suck until they seperate the program from the grasps of the Falices. I have heard of the term "like father like son" but damn.

The 4A's are in Calgary so this is guess of the teams and their chances of winning:
#1. BOB
#2. Cardston
#3. St. FX
#4. Grandin
#5. Churhill

I agree, how does HA earn so much respect? Its sad how selective programs get its much due respect because of its history or reputation.
Take PK, they suck this year! I mean, really man they lost to Bellerose which is a team that may not win a single regular season game. I read on here about how Stanley will work his magic and I call bull. He wasn't the Cats meow at JP and now that he is at PK he definately hasnt woo'd anyone. Now that he is a teacher at Eastglen yet stills coaches at PK [which is a weird arrangement/PK must be desperate] so how can the Blues be successful when their coach is torn between schools? But my point is not to attack Stanley and PK it is to point out that they have atleast won multiple regular season games and they are no where to be found in the rankings and this is rightfully so, but HA gets honourable mention - you have to be kidding me??!

PostSubject: Ainlay gets too much respect?   Thu Mar 14, 2013 4:38 pm

Didn't I read somewhere on this forum that Ainlay had twice beaten LCI this year? You beat the number 1 seed twice and you do deserve some respect in my opinion.
