JP LeBlanc( Sturgeon Comp) is a dynamic scoring machine and probably one of the best guards in the north. Jacob Laxdal(PK), the 2 Joey's(STFX) Cam V(SACHS) the little pG fromOleary are probably the better players in metro..

Is no one from Calgary going to take a shot at this? Well from what I can remember of the Calgary teams although I can't remember names so if someone could fill them in for me it would be appreciated. Here is my list is in no particular order

Big guard from BOB Garrett I think dont know his last name I think they would occasionally put him at point
Point Guard from Churchill that was on the provinical team
Post player from Manning he"s about 6"8
The Point gaurd from St Mary's Senior team last year
There were a few grade 11's on Grandin that I also thought were pretty talented
Another gaurd from Churchill Scott Lamb explosive scorer

I can't think of anymore so if there is anyone from Calgary that wants to give it a try go for it

I can help with some Calgary names and filling in the blanks from the last post:

BOB - sorry don't know Garret's last name but he's a top player and plays almost every position
Churchill - Emmett Cook & Scott Lamb wing/guards (gr 12s), Adonis Monfort-Palomino (pt guard Team AB and Churchill senior last year gr 11)
Manning - Matt Ellis (top big man on Team AB last year and gr 11)
St. Mary's - Nick Molina (point guard gr 12), Cameron Driscoll guard (gr 11)
Grandin - Trent Joseph guard (gr 12)
McNally - Mathieu Kamba forward (gr 11)

Others???

Who do the boys mentioned from the south play for? Always good to know when tournament hopping this season!

What about Mikenson Firth of Catholic Central? afro You can't leave him out of this. In my opinion, definitely a top player

Well Mikenson I watch a lot of south boys and girls games and I am sorry to say that , I have never heard of you!!
So you might want to enlighten me of your accomplishments thus far before we add you to this list!

I would just like to point out I am NOT Mikenson Firth. He is a very athletic and fast guard. He can shoot and has good hands for passing and playing the ball down low. Very balanced all around while still exceeding expectation in certain categories. If you didn't know he is a Catholic Central Highschool player (Lethbridge)

PostSubject: Can't Recognize Talent!!!!!   Fri Feb 08, 2013 3:55 pm

I was lucky enough to make the trip down to lethbridge to watch Chinook play Magrath earlier this year. Frankly, I am outraged that Felix Quesnelle did not even get a mention on here. During that game, (I have seen others) he dominated the glass and conrolled the tempo of the game. He has an explosive jab step, as well as good foot work down low. Without a doubt, the top post player in the south zone.

Felix Quesnelle is definitely not the top post player in the south. I don't mean to take anything away from the kid. He's a decent player and competes on both ends but he is not among top posts in the south. Cardston, WC, LCI, and MHHS all have post players that I would place in front of Quesnelle. You saw him play against a weak opponent in Magrath. He didn't get a mention because those of us who see the entire south league play, and not just one game, know that there is much better talent at that position.

Has anyone been playing close attention to the two players on MH tearing up the south zone?! josh sparkes and matt teel hve been an unstopable force throughout the south zone tourney. Teel has been working with new manager and basketball icon jon bower and has added a new level to his already spectacular game. Josh sparkes has been putting up big numbers also but hardly comparable to teels ability to dominate late in big games.
