So is true that the division winners will be ranked 1-4? If true I think the rankings will go something like :
1Walnut Grove
2WRCA
3Pitt Meadows
4Lord Tweidsmur
5Yale
6Tammy
It's going to be interested as two top teams in the province are ranked 5 and 6 so generally the top 4 should be WG, white rock, Yale, and tammy but with the draw I don't know if that will happen or not.

It's not true that the league winners are ranked 1-4. The only rule is that you cannot be ranked higher than someone from your league that finished above you.

So for example Grove and Yale could theoretically be #1 and #2, but Yale could not put ahead of Grove as they finished behind them in the final league standings.

Why is Johnston heights so low seeded considering they finished top 4 in their division? i mean 27th is way to low is it not?

There will always be a bit of debate on some of the seedings, but overall a very good job by the Valley committee.

The top 4 was right on.

Teams 5-11 are bunched up and will be fighting for those last 4 spots.

its a popularity vote, sardis north delta and JH got the worst of it..... sardis had wins over pitt and mouat but since its Goulet's word against a not so well known sardis coach they got the higher seed, it shouldve been sardis at 6 lt at 7 ec 8 and pitt at 9...... ND who has young coaches had to deal with the same thing they are way better then someone like fleetwood and were a preseason ranked team and have a win against gleneagle but same thing here, the other coaches are more well known compared to the ND coaches...... JH got totally killed at the draw they should be around 22nd...... it seems to me that half the draw is who you know rather then who you beat, coaches vote for teams in there division most of the time,

Have to disagree with this, the draw looks fairly accurate. It's never going to be perfect through everyones eyes. As far as the accusation of being bias towards veteran coaches, I don't think that is true. Teams like Pitt and Mouat earned there seeds. Sardis beat Pitt very early on in the season when they were slowed down by injuries. Since December Pitt has been one of the hottest teams in BC, and won the Valley North. To argue that the 4th place team in the East/West should be placed ahead of the Valley North champions is rather silly to me. On top of that you argue by saying Sardis defeated Mouat early in the year, well Mouat beat Sardis by 20+ in the 3rd/4th game, so an early year win by Sardis would seem fairly moot. Don't get me wrong Sardis is a great team and had a great year, but it seems to me you are putting too much weight into particular games rather than the whole body of work over the course of the season.

I would have to agree with BallisGood1. If you're not familiar with how the FV seeding meeting works it can seem a little confusing. I'll try to clarify. The first item of business at the seeding meeting is to write down the playoff results #1 to #8 from each of the four zones Central, East, North and South West. Provincial rankings, won/loss records are not considered at this time. So now you have one team at the top of each of those four lists. In this case it was WRCA, WG, Pitt and Tweedsmuir. Now all the 32 coaches at the meeting vote (one vote per team) to determine the #1 seed. None of the other teams can be considered at this time. So this year WRCA was voted (#1 seed) and then #2 Tamy from the south west now moves to the top of the South West list. Now all the coaches vote for one of those four teams Tamy, WG, Pitt and Tweedsmuir) at the top of the list. In the second round WG was voted the #2 seed and Yale moves up to the top of the East zone list. Again only the top four teams at the top of the list can be considered. In the third round Yale was chosen as the #3 seed. This process continues until all the teams have been seeded. As a result a team like North Delta (finished #4 in their South West zone) can't make it to the top of the South West list (to be voted on) until Delta (finished #3 in their South West zone) is chosen ahead of them. The seeded teams from #1 to #32 are now slotted into the predetermined Fraser Valley Playoff Draw

PostSubject: Draw, etc....   Tue Feb 19, 2013 12:53 pm

Draw looks pretty even, with no real surprises outside the top 4.......5-12 gets interesting, with those teams, in theory at least, fighting over the valleys last 4 BC berths.......having said that, that does an injustice to any number of other teams, who with fight and maybe a little luck, can also make it...you need to be hot, injury free (or as close as), and have a little luck....Good luck to all!

There is an error in the posted draw. #21 Centennial is shown twice and #23 team is missing.
