To my knowledge no, Holy Cross has lost only three games, there first three games of the season in late November to AAA teams Tammy, Mouat and Sardis and since the beginning of December have have won 30+ games in a row against AA and AAA competition going into the AA Provincials.

It sure has helped having those 6'5", 18-year-old twins transfer into grade 11 from Nigeria at the start of the school year!

No argument here, the 6'5" Maduabueke twins are two of the most athletic kids playing in BC regardless of tier, defensive studs who can jump out of the gym but still raw offensivlely, they seem to have made significant strides in learning the fundamentals of the game from the beginning of the season. They have surely helped along with 6'7" BC U17 F Aaron Madaisky and 6'2" BC U15 G Taylor Browne to propel Holy Cross from AA contenders to recognition as a top high school team in Canada (as per NPH latest national rankings).

I see there were a couple of mild upsets of the higher seeds, although SMU over King George is no surprise as they have been solid througout the year ranked #1 for the majority, Carney over Duchess Park is a bit of a surprise but it's always hard to gauge the interior teams as they usually don't play many top mainland teams during the year.

Glad to hear Jamie is still lighting it up in his final season as a Griffin, I still remember him as a 10th grader coming off the Palmer bench against VC for that Provincial title, he could shoot it then and looks like even better now.

Very good game between Palmer and Lambrick. Palmer led by 5 after one and by 4 at the half and also by 4 after three. The fourth quarter was very close but Lambrick hit some huge shots to take the lead in the last couple of minutes. It was unfortunate that the officials did not let the players decide the game in the last 2 minutes but full credit to Lambrick for hitting some clutch shots late in the fourth.

We were playing so I wasn't able to watch the Holy Cross vs. Kelowna Christian game. Anybody see this game and can provide some details? Big congrats to Kelowna Christian for doing something no other AA team was able to do this year by beating Holy Cross.

Kelowna Christian was the better team out there, led basically from start to finish. KC just could not miss a shot, tough shots dropping from all over the court, and caused lots of turnovers. Kelowna up 12 in the fourth, Holy Cross got it down to 4 with 2 min. left but KC hit a 25+ foot shot with 1 on the shot clock I that killed any momentum HC had to comeback. Congrats to Kelowna Christian on the win, I believe Kelowna Christian has only lost one game this year to Holy Cross by 20+ back in December. A great run this season in AA for the former Single A powerhouse.

AA PROVINCIAL SEMIS + FINALS Game Recaps

SEMI-FINAL
- KELOWNA CHRISTIAN 67 HOLY CROSS 54
- A 360-degree spinning blind three-pointer by shooting guard Jordan Hass beat the 24-second clock and put Kelowna Christian up 60-53 with under three-minutes remaining in a bizarre game-breaking moment that probably spelled the end of top seed Holy Cross Crusaders 2013 provincial hopes. Certainly, Crusaders never really recovered from the ‘miracle shot’ against one of their fellow private schools. Kelowna the Okanagan champs, led by six at the half but the game was tightened up in the fourth quarter, before Hass made two key three-pointers and captain Ryan Linttell tossed in eight, including five foul shots to finish with a team-leading 20 for the game. Also scoring for Kelowna were Connor Loewen and Ethan Klukas with 13 each in the game. Holy Cross, got 28 from 6’5” grade-11 Henry Maduabueke and 13 from Taylor Browne.

SEMI-FINAL
- BRENTWOOD 55 LAMBRICK PARK 51
- Lambrick Park never quite recovered from over eight minutes without a point during a 15-5 deficit for the second-quarter. During that stretch Lambrick Park almost totally failed to penetrate inside and the perimeter game couldn’t make a shot. Quarter scores were 17-13, 32-17 and 48-36 for Brentwood who did weather a belated late charge by Lambrick. Brentwood, led by the one returning first-team provincial all-star from 2012, Jordan Charles, simply were the better team on this night. The 6’5” Charles had a game-high 27 evenly distributed each quarter. Ulas Zeyrik also had 14 for the winners. Lambrick countered with 17 by senior guard Alex Chen and 16 from Ismail Abdulahi. Brentwood will play Okanagan champion Kelowna Christian School in Saturday’s 4 p.m. boy’s championship.

BRONZE MEDAL GAME
- HOLY CROSS 86 LAMBRICK PARK 75
- Pre-tourney top-seed Holy Cross shook off a semi-final loss to Kelowna Christian and weathered a stiff test from Lambrick Park in the 3-4 game. Lambrick were right in it until a stretch when 6’9” Matt Neufeld had to sit with four fouls, during which time Holy Cross built a solid margin that the Lions never could overcome. Neufeld would eventually foul out, and perimeter gunner Brendan Somers finished with four fouls, hampering a bold belated comeback bid by the Lions. Holy Cross were in a 46-46 tie in the third-quarter when they ran 14-straight points to take command with Neufeld sitting. Aaron Madaisky, whose brother Adam had starred in local Major Junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers, fired 24-points for Holy Cross, backed up by 20 from Taylor Browne and 13 from Stanley Maduabueke. Lambrick Park got 22 from senior guard Alex Chen and 19 by Somers, to go with 13 from Ismail Abdulahi.

BOYS GOLD MEDAL GAME
- KELOWNA CHRISTIAN 58 BRENTWOOD 47
- Brentwood jumped out to a 7-0 lead but it was Kelowna Christian getting the best shots but not finishing them off in a paradoxical first-quarter. Kelowna’s tough defensive play offset their shooting shortcomings as Brentwood led a low-scoring first-quarter 11-6. However Kelowna’s nervous looking early shooting jitters disappeared with 21-5 domination of the second-quarter and 27-16 half-time lead. Setting the pace of the win for the Knights was 6’1” senior guard Drew Schulz whose rapier quick drives spurred the second-quarter surge and whose thundering two-hand dunk in the third-quarter further fired his team and supporters. The game was wrapped in the final minute on half-court inbounds alley-oop pass to Daniel Seinen for an uncontested layup making it 55-47 at the time. Kelowna scoring was led by Drew Schulz with 17 and 13 by 6’5” senior post Daniel Seinen. Brentwood had the top scorer in the game, 6’5” senior and repeat B.C. all-star Jordan Charles with 20, Ably supported by centre Ulas Zeyrik with 16.
