I guess it's up to the committee.... I'm not sure I agree with your assessment of your team... But it will be teams that have a solid body of work over the whole season....not just a game here and there...

Cowichan is a very good team off the island that didn't make it and they are better than Delta....delta got beat up in the sudden death round by a 22 seed.... So their body of work for the season may not get them there..... M.E.I. Looked good against Tamanawis..... Hard to say....

That's great, nice to hear Cowichan had a good year. There are so many coaches and kids putting in countless hours to be the best they can be and we should applaud them all. What are you basing that they are better than Delta? Did they play each other? Have you seen Delta play? I do know that Delta beat many good teams last month including Terry Fox in their gym and MEI in the finals of the Semiahmoo tourney by about 12 points. They lost only 3 games in 2014 before losing to Marriott last week and all 3 are in the BC's...STM, Walnut Grove and McMath. Delta was seeded 6th in the valley and arguably could have been 2nd but lost a 9-8 vote at the seeding meeting. There are many good teams out there but we should probably only comment on things we know to be true rather than just looking from afar and passing judgement. Smile

Delta beat Fox by 1 over Christmas break...a game after 2 weeks off. Really?....they lost to McMath by 30 in the final of McMath's Tournament..a week later Fox beat McMath by 26..... Not so afar.... Please Check all your results before you start commenting...look..everyone supports their teams. .they .would love to see them make the tournament.... Yours didn't so far.... I remember last year at Grade 9 one of the advantages of the week off before the BC's, the committee created I think 4 "play in" games to get the 2 final spots.... Maybe in the future that might be an option, but not this year with the games starting on Wednesday .   It is in the hands of the committee and the team's win/loss for the season.  You hope your team gets there... Good luck

Does anyone happen to know who won the Kootenays' berth and the 3 Okanagan berths?

Wow, that's aggressive. Wht so angry? This is just a friendly discussion comparing various teams. "Check all your results" ? Sorry, were they wrong ? Just posting what i can see. ...and I think it was Christmas break for both teams Smile

I doubt kits and Dover would be 21 and 22.... But the top 12 or so seem pretty acurate

Yeah I'm not too sure about Kits low seed as they have played close and also beat some top teams in the province.
Although Dover Bay holds the Island championships.. they have lost games to many interior and mainland teams.

I understand West Van are the Highlanders, but those kilt-looking shorts look horrendous.

Everyone was bugging tammy about team issues. They now look like the clear favourites to best west van and reach the finals without a couple of top players. Btw that grade 8 Miguel... UNREAL.

I agree..they looked real good out there today. Only caught the VC game so going based off that. IMO, Miguel struggled but #9 is a SOLID ball player. Shows a real soft touch around the hoop..very Z-Bo like game..good strong build on him but has this bounce on his feet. VC played a great game and really battled but Sagar Dulay game up big for them down the stretch. Those guys are really in it to win it despite Sahil Dhami not playing. One of their players got injured in the Mouat game..not sure how bad it was but when I peeked in he was on the bench with his family by him.

Happy for the West Van group - they don't have any one particular player that stands out but they're a really disciplined group.

My prediction is a Tammy/Grove finals.

I really like Tammy's chances against West Van as I believe they're playing some very good basketball this tournament.

PR's 1-3-1 always seems to stun teams, but I think Grove will be better prepared for it after their close loss in the FV finals.

Should be two very interesting games nonetheless.

West Van really took kelowna out of it played a box and 1 on #10 from kelowna for a bit and kelowna looked confused. I caught the tammy mouat game and Miguel had some huge plays, of course mistakes are bound to happen with such a young player but man his handles and shot remind me of steph curry.
