Sorry must of had a mistype on the earlier post, I've edited the score above, anyone at the Grove-George's game live? Hear it was a close game throughout but didn't catch it myself.

I managed to get there for game time. Overall, it was a very entertaining game with the gym packed and extremely loud. When Cohee had to come off in the second quarter because of foul trouble, the saints rallied back and were up by 4. Grove looked like an entirely different team in the third, though as they managed to maintain their stride despite Cohee having to come off with 4 fouls halfway through the third. I was very impressed by the physicality of both teams. Ethan Scott impressed me with his hard takes to the rim and Bryce Derton also stepped up and hit some big shots.

Heard Ethan Scott and Bryce Derton were the top players on the floor that game. Cohee got into foul trouble but was still able to provide a major impact.

WJ Mouat 75 Tamanawis 67

Tristan Etienne 31pts (12-18 fg, 7-16 ft), 14reb, 1ast, 1blk, 2stl

Sukhjot Bains 40pts (12-32 fg, 5-13 3p, 11-15 ft), 13reb, 2ast, 2blk, 3stl

Good back and forth action all game, teams trading leads throughout. Tristan Etienne is a man-child, when he puts his mind to it to dominate, there is no one in BC who can stop him, only hope to slow him down. Jayme Bains was key as the third double digit scorer for Mouat along with Corey Hauck, Bains knocked down some clutch 3s down the stretch to seal it for the Hawks. Tamanawis was slowed as Parm Bains went down with an injury, Sukhjot Bains did all he could to keep Tammy in it but they couldn't find any secondary scoring. Mouat with a motivated and aggressive Etienne will be tough for any team to match up with

It was a great game and will probably move Tammy down a few spots on the rankings but a few things from the box score:
-Tammy only had 6 assists for the entire game
-Tammy went 6-15 (40%) from 3 in the first; 4-19 (21%) in the second
-Bains had 24 points in the first half off 4-6 3s but finished shooting 5-13 (this kid is relentless; he just wants to play and win, it almost looks like he's angry out there all the time but I just think he's intensely focused)
-Corey Hauck is a very nice and quick point guard he had 10 points, 9 reb in the first half; finished with 10p, 12r, 4a, 5 TO
-Mouat isn't a big 3 point shooting team (5-14 on the game) but as Jesus said, Jayme Bains hit some big ones for them down the stretch
-Tristan Etienne put on a good show (& got the win) for UW Coach Lorenzo Romar who was in attendance
-Parm Bains' absence in the 2nd half definitely hurt Tammy as he had 11pts in the first half

Mouat 91 Delta Pacers 68

Very close game, closing minutes Mouat pulled away.
Ryan Cowley held Tristen to 4pts and scored 15pts himself. Both were in foul trouble all game. Corey Hauck had 29pts 6 assist 6 rbs 4 stls. Delta Pacers have some nice players, are not deep but will be in the mix when all is said and done barring injuries!

Apparently the Gleneagle - Pitt overtime game was very competitive and entertaining with big performances from Denver Sparks-Guest for GE and grade 11 Graham Smith for Pitt.

Although likely not top 10 material, Pitt also only lost to Burnaby South by 2 points in a pre-season club tourney so they may surprise some top teams over year.

Games for Wednesday Dec.04, 2013

WJ Mouat 86 Terry Fox 72
Fox was up 14 in the 1st half, Mouat slowed the tempo in the 2nd half, and moved to a zone defense stunting the Fox offence. Jomari Reyes continues to power the Ravens with his speed, shooting and playmaking despite missing key big Mike West Fox continues to compete at a high level, and will be tough for any team to play. Mouat got a strong bounce back game from Tristan Etienne who was held to only 4 pts and foul trouble in Mondays game at Delta, Etienne dominated the glass, and was strong all over the court. While Corey Hauck continues to consistently provide the Hawks with excellent guard play, an ultra quick sharp shooter who has a relentless motor.

Charles Best lost to Maple Ridge 69-67. I might get in trouble for saying this but this was one of the worst officiated game ever. Not saying we would have won because of it but one of the official was just total power trip. They can explain a call to a player but never should a ref say to a player "WHAT? U don't think it's a foul?Pleaseeee." Just one of many issues. I never complain about the officiating because I know it's a hard job but tonight was just unbelievable. That's that.

After a few months of lurking, thought I'd join in the fun - interesting discussions. No direct "skin in the game" (coach/player/parent), but a fan of HS hoops. Unlike many teams in the LM that have been playing for a few months, not much happening on the Island except for one team most are "sleeping on" - Claremont. They've played 3 (Cowichan, Lambrick, SMUS) of the top 4 teams on the Island & although scores can be deceiving - they are in a class by themselves. Think they play Walnut Grove this weekend, stay tuned. Solid starting 5 have played together for years (all Sr's), not a ton of height - but they can play the game on both ends.

Can someone confirm the score from the Mouat game in Edmonton (Mike Dea Classic). They were playing one of the top teams from Regina (Leboldus) tonight with a couple of pretty good players, especially the youngest De Cimon kid. Wouldn't be a shock if they lit up the #1 ranked team in BC.

Charles Best lost to Enver Creek 70-68. We blew a 8 pts lead with 3 mins left..Enver Creek went on a 10-0 to win the game. We are really struggling to finish games but hopefully we will get there eventually. Playing Lord Tweedsmuir to finish up the Maple Ridge tournament tomorrow.
