I thought BNB brought in a new guideline that stated a player had to live a certain distance from the team he was playing for. I know a few years ago it stated that teams could only pick up players from a "neighbouring community" as in the next one down the road. If this still applies either the map of New Brunswick has drastically changed in the last few years or the BNB executive need a refresher course on New Brunswick political geography. Has it been changed?

Residency Rule for Youth Teams Competing in BNB Provincial Championships

Teams that compete in BNB Provincial Championship Tournaments must represent a minor basketball association, club, school or community. If there are not enough players to field a team from one community, players from a bordering community may be added to complete the roster.

In the midget and juvenile divisions, if there are no available players in bordering communities, application may be made to add players from non-bordering communities.

Players from a community that has a registered minor basketball association must have written approval from that minor association in order to compete at provincials for another minor basketball association or community team.

Thanks coach! From looking at the rosters I'm sure all those guidelines were followed to the letter! LOL Any results from any of the juvenile or midget divisions?

I'm surprised Rudas didn't ask for a 1 year suspension of FHS basketball since I heard 1 of the Southside players had the nerve to wear shorts that sported both the Kat logo and the words "Black Kats".

heheheh....even worse the riverview midget boys had three pictures in a provincial paper from their BNB midget provincials wearing the riverview royals high school uniforms...I wonder if they will get the "chastising e-mail" from the NBIAA that some schools in the north got for wearing thiers in a game last fall....which would be funny since the principal there is president of the NBIAA ...

Probably not. After the hassle I went through about uniforms, I questioned the NBIAA about it. Was told that all they did was "warn schools of a possible liability issue but it is the principals call". I am pretty sure that is not the message they gave our principal at the time but who am I to argue
