KSS can't be beaten next year. This team is the Kentucky of high school basketball. Unstoppable.

Izaiah Ugoalah returning to Churchill for his grade 12 season. Possibly the best player in the province.

I predict Churchill beats Kelowna in the provincial final next year.

We should get an early look at this KSS/Churchill match-up during Heritage Woods' Kodiak Klassic Sr. Boys Basketball Tournament from December 3rd to 5th, 2015.

The 16-team tournament field is set.  Here it is with Howard Tsumura's pre-preseason rankings in brackets:
• Kelowna (1)
• Churchill (2)
• Kitsilano (3)
• Tamanawis (4)
• St. George's (6)
• Holy Cross (7)
• Oak Bay ( 8 )
• West Vancouver (9)
• Terry Fox (10)
• W.J. Mouat (HM)
• Killarney (HM)
• Panorama Ridge (HM)
• St. Francis Xavier (Edmonton)
• Vancouver College
• Port Moody
• Heritage Woods (Host)

Let's not get carried away the KSS is good but the Kentucky of next year come on and remember what happened to Kentucky in the tournament. They will be a hard team to beat but anything can happen and anyone can can get hot and then they'll be out.

There have been many rumors of Jake Cowley(Delta) and Miguel Tomley(Tamanawis) transferring to Walnut Grove Gators, anybody know if that is true?

PostSubject: Cowley to Walnut Grove   Tue Aug 04, 2015 9:16 pm

I was told the Cowley family have moved to the Walnut Grove area and he will be playing for them next season.
Jaden Dewar has moved to the U.S. from St. George's as well.
These two moves should mean some movement in the pre-season rankings in most peoples' minds.

Tamanawis is definitely not at #4. Darius Ballou has gone to a prep school which will be a setback for this school. IMO it does not even come in top 10 teams. The only players worth mentioning in this team are Miguel and Basra.

They were one of the top Junior teams 2 years ago without Darius. Their starting 5 is strong with a bit of everything: Tomley, Basra, Sagar Dular, Gary Sahota and Jelani Morris. Roop Viria and Kyle Uppal are gr. 11s that will probably get good playing time.

Last years Heritage tourney was outstanding with a few highly ranked teams struggling at the start (Kits, Terry Fox - because West was still hurt), an un-ranked sleeper team making the Final (Oak Bay), & one of the best players (Haley) leading his BBY South team to victory in a thrilling final. Many last second & overtime games. If you're a ball fan, might want to take the trek to HW in early December.

Whenever you have a very early season tournament there could also be some football & volleyball challenges. For that reason I like SWC over KSS. By spring 2016 I'm picking KSS to win it all.

Thanks FVRox!  I will start a new thread with the Schedule and Draw for this year's Kodiak Klassic!
