Curious about what people think our chances are to medal at Nationals this year?

The team has played in 3 tournaments so far.

Thoughts?

Hope they will do better than 9th (last year's result) but competition will be tough.  Ontario and Quebec will be very strong and deep as per usual but there are also some good teams from Sask, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia and even Nfld who have a very elite player or two.

My sense after looking at BC roster is that they lack that one or two dominant players (Jermaine Haley'sh) but word is that they are bonding well and should be able to play competitive overall team game.  My prediction is somewhere between 3rd and 6th.

This is the year (1997 birthdate) that handily won Bronze at Nationals in 2012 and was up against Ontario at half and only team that challenged them. I am not certain, but I think Graham Smith is the only player returning from that team.  Coach Goulet will get everything out of this team, as did Mike Morgan who was head coach in 2012.

Here's a breakdown of the U15 Team from 2012, seems there are only 3 holdovers from the team that won Bronze in 2012 with Charles, Smith and Derton, I hope the U17s in 2014 can also bring home a medal, as I hear they have had consecutive great weekends in the States, Team BC should be really competitive this yr, with good size and athleticism on the team. Best of luck to all the teams representing BC at Nationals this yr.

I've seen parts of games over summer on AAU circuit. Looks like regular starters are Josh Charles, Graham Smith and Jeff Tubbs. More recent games also seem to have Graham Miller and Tyus Barfoot but am not sure if they are part of regular starting line-up.
