Yes Ebe there were some close tight finishes yesterday....

Richmond High vs Palmer.....  Ebe you could give a better replay of the game but heard Palmer was up at half.

SLSS vs McMath....  Tight game in the first 6-5 but then McMath went on a 13-0 run and finished the 1st qtr up 21-12.  SLSS started the 2nd qtr off coming back to within in 3, but couple runs by McMath and they took the lead into the half 45-27.  McMath scored first 4 points to go up 22 but then SLSS started the come back 28-20 in the rest of the 3rd qtr.  The 4th qtr got the crowd going when Gr. 11 Nigel Boyd started to take the game over 17 pts in the 4th.  SLSS had last shot chance down 1 and Nigel puts up a shot that missed its mark but Taros Johal was able to get the rebound but was fouled but refs called it a rebound foul which gave SLSS ball with 1.3 seconds left.  Timeout taken and McMath did a great job taking Nigel and Taros away but Gr. 12 Brian Chen came open and took the last shot and in and out for the final 84-83.  Great game and stats from the game

McMath

A. Demch 37 pts
Tj. Hamberger 14 pts
S. Evanson 10 pts

SLSS

N. Boyd 40 pts, 12 rebs, 1 asst, 3 stl, 2 blk
T. Johal 17 pts, 12 rebs, 5 asst
R. Ismail 9 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asst, 3 stl

Cambie 81-60 MacNeill  Didn't see this game so not fair to comment.

McNair vs McRoberts..... Close game in the first half with neither team getting a hold on the lead for long.  3rd qtr was was just like the 1st half with good battles and lost of back and fourth action...  McNair took a 1 pt lead into the 4th and with about 5:20 to go McNair started to pull away 72-61.. They were able to hold off the last push of McRoberts for the win 80-72.

A highly entertaining and well played game tonight at Burnett in front of a sold out crowd (probably around 500 people). Richmond jumped out early to take a 10 points lead but McMath settled down and the game was tied 44 to 44 at the half. 1st team all-star Jonathan Mikhlin hurt his ankle for Richmond and was unable to play in the 2nd half and it looked like McMath might pull away but the Colts hung around and with their guards hitting some big three balls they got back in the game. McMath's Anthony Demch was a one man wrecking crew scoring close to 40 points for the Widcats but it wasn't enough in the end as Richmond won 91 to 89. This is the Coilts first title in 15 years.
MVP of the Richmond League was Anthony Demch.
