I think some upsets may be seen this week in the south! Never know which team is gonna show up! But I think i'll take a shot at it.

7 MH vs 2 Cardston
6 WC vs 3 Magrath
5 Raymond vs 4 CCHS
8 Chinook vs 1 LCI

I'm going with
2 Cardston vs 3 Magrath - Magrath matchups win this game
4 CCHS vs 1 LCI - Squeeker over a underrated CCH

FINALS
LCI over Magrath - LCI too much for Magrath to handle

Third Place
CCHS over Cardston - I think this will be the big upset, goes down really to the Cardston guards playing well or CCHS bigs?!?

Best games to watch:
Magrath vs Cardston
CCHS vs. Cardston
LCI vs. CCHS

Agree or Disagree??
Anything can happen it is March!

Anything can happen but I can't see LCI losing it this year and Cardston not qualifying would be a surprise.

Magrath and Myers play for the 3A Girls South Zone title at 4pm today. Should be an excellent game! Eagle Butte and Myers play for the 3A Boys title tonight as well.

South Zone Predictions for tonight;

4A Boys - LCI wins in a close game over Cardston. The Rams are crowned Zone Champions for consecutive years!

4A Girls - Raymond wins quite easily over Medicine Hat.

3A Boys - no idea but will assume WR Myers wins the Zone over Eagle Butte.

3A Girls - the most unpredictable of the 4 games with Magrath and Myers both beating eachother in blowouts and close games. I give the edge to the Rebels by 1 point in a thriller.

4A boys I am still going with Cardston over LCI. And by the way consecutive means they won last year. I am sure Medicine Hat would be surprised to hear that Razz.

3rd place game wont be close. Magrath by at least 25.

I would agree with Raymond winning the 4A girls but Cardston boys and Magrath girls could very likely win tonight and myers boys could easily be upset

pretty impressive cardston teams could potentially win 3 of 4 titles today and varsity girls could qualify for provincials

My bad feels like last year but actually 2 years ago. I guess we will see, both teams are deserving but I am biased towards the Rams and feel they are a better team this year, and I would agree Magrath wins by 20+. Looking forward to the games

WR Myers wins the 3A 82-70 over Eagle Butte. Magrath takes 3rd place and provincial berth with 94-90 win over CCH. Great championship game in a packed gym at UofL. Rams lead at half 42-25.

LCI wins 83-67 to take the Championship. They should be ranked #1 going into provincials.

Based upon zone final results, I agree with you. LCI should probably get the #1 ranking. They have stayed high for most of the year and finished off the season on a high when Ainlay could not. I still believe an Edmonton team will win Provincials. They will get the advantage of playing their first game in their home gym and then play the rest in very familiar surroundings with home crowds.

LCI has stayed high most of the year but they've had a few struggles along the way and still managed to maintain the overall play. They really have come together in the past month or so and will be a force at provincials. Giving the #1 to RS was a mistake because it should have played out as HA and LCI in the finals. Cardston gets the benefit with the draw because I don't think RS is as good as the #1 ranking would suggest so my bold prediction this year is a Cardston, LCI final and the surprise team this year will be EM who will end up in 5th.

2014-15 Provincial Seeding
1 Ross Sheppard
2 Lethbridge Collegiate Institute
3 Harry Ainlay
4 Cardston High
5 Bishop McNally
6 Archbishop O'Leary
7 Sir Winston Churchill
8 Magrath School
9 Bishop O'Byrne
10 Jasper Place
11 Ernest Manning
12 St. Francis Xavier
13 Notre Dame, Red Deer
14 Foothills Composite
15 Lloydminster Comprehensive
16 Grande Prairie Composite

You know looking at the draw I was thinking the same thing. Mcnally and shep will be tough, but if you are Cardston, you probably would have picked this draw if you had a choice as the teams they have beat this season are all on their side. Still a tough path through mcnally and shep but they know they can beat those teams. And yes watching Lci play recently, they have looks quite good if they play that way I expect them to go very deep. An all south final would be great!

I just haven't been that impressed with RS. If I'm Cardston I would be way more worried about BM at 5 than RS at 1. I would not be surprised to see Magrath take RS out in the quarter finals. We could see a Cardston Magrath semi final.

RS is very much a Jekyll and Hyde team. If they are playing their pressure defense with intensity they are all but unbeatable as Ainlay found out in the Edmonton final. They look average when they come out with no energy. Right now they are playing great and I would not want to play them.
