Any teams suffering from injuries at the Woodstock tournament (Macnaughton)?

Macnaughton was missing two starters. One was away (Thorne) the other out with the flu (blakney) tried to play but couldn't.

Yup first 2 losses to NB teams down 2 starters and the bench point guard. Also running more bench than starters for at least 50% of the game. I think they will be fine.

PBC A well done event. Much preferred the skill and speed of the ladies final vs. the ego filled, hormone enraged p___ing contest of the mens final. Entertaining though.

That is quite the observation.
Gotta expect that with the coaches of those two teams. They are full of themselves.

Lol you guys are full of it both those games are entertaining and great. With heart guts and lots of tempo both girls and guys went after it. Two great coaches in top of A division and AA division. If that final had FHS or LEO probably would have been great?

Hopefully there were no egos, hormones or p!$$ing. Oh wait, it was a high school boys tournament right? There was probably even, heaven forbid, intensity.

Touché. I  deserve that. It's not fair to blame many for the behavior of one or two. I guess the culture has changed from the days where bad behavior was dealt with instead of rewarded. I would hate to think that some of those players "intensity" might possibly cost the team in a game that really mattered.

I think there are just cultural differences and expedctations in the sport of basketball that people/areas/regions don't see eye to eye on.

Example: We do a drill in practice where we allow teammates to compete shooting free throws while partners can say anything they want to distract them or throw off their rhythm. We went to a tournament a couple of weekends ago where during a boys game a packed gym full of students was stomping and yelling and blowing horns during free throws. We play in games where you can't hear a pin drop when teams are shooting free throws and officials and site management are acting like librarians keeping it down.

This is just one example.

Then you can talk about physical play. We play in games during the year where 50+ fouls are called, we play in tournaments where we can play 4 games and neither team ever gets into bonus. I've seen guys games where teams play and their are 8 or more unsportsmanlike hard fouls and teams just shoot their free throws and go back to battling. I've seen games where the first time someone hits the floor hard coaches/fans are worried about dirty play.

One persons gamesmanship is another's poor sport. One places physical play, is another places reckless play. WHen we talk about emotion, discipline, intensity, competitive fire, etc. Different expectations and beliefs cause differences of opinion. Just play. Thats the beauty of sport. If you don't like something, are bothered by something, etc . . . there is a scoreboard. That can always be your answer. You play, you beat someone, you repeat it often enough your way becomes the standard.

Your last point about the scoreboard is well taken. The final outcome is what matters even though I may not like how it was achieved. I have enough competitive blood in my veins to be OK with that. Your candid and non judgemental response is appreciated

Woodstock must have been missing some guys? no way CNHS are 30 points better. they will get beat in playoffs by Woodstock or Rothesay (heard it here first)
