LHHS hosted a tournament that was suppose to be 6 teams but Riverview and Trimble dropped out. It ended up being the JV teams from FHS and LHHS along with the varsity teams from Fredericton Christian Academy and Campobello.

FCA won all 3 games, LHHS went 2-1 beating FHS and Campobello, FHS was 1-2 and Campobello was 0-3.

JV Boys Standings

1. Saint John High (Still the most consistent group. Be a shame if they don't fix the coaching at the SR. level before these kids get there.)
2. Fredericton (I know they lost to Leo Hayes on the weekend but at the end of the year I still see them in the finals vs Saint John. Lack of shooting might be their downfall. Lost to Leo Hayes but just won their own tournament)
3. Leo Hayes (Hard to figure this team out. Win when they shouldn't and lose when they shouldn't sometimes. Beat FHS on the weekend.)
4. KV (Been close to Saint John but may not even make provincials. Team chemistry with one kid playing hockey part time may be an issue. Also a lack of depth for an AAA school. Beat MVHS by 13 and lost to Woodstock by 8 on the weekend.)
5. Riverview (Don't know much about these guys.)
6. Bernice MacNaughton ( Sounds like this team is a mess right now. Not sure about the coaching situation. Lost to Carleton North but that is the least of their concerns right now it seems.)
7. Carleton North ( Beat Bernice MacNaughton but lost to Miramichi Valley however they are not at full strength due to the post game at FHS tournament.)
8. Woodstock (Beat Harbourview, Moncton, St. Mac's, Sussex, Miramichi Valley and KV last week so we can't rank any of those teams ahead of them. Lack of size and depth)
9. Miramichi Valley (Beat CN on the weekend and were missing a player or 2.)
10. Sussex (Lost of size and athleticism. Need some outside scoring)

11-15 Hampton, Harbourview, Moncton, St. Macs, Simonds

That's quite a bold statement. What exactly is wrong with the coaching? You have a young coach who is committed to the program.

Just basing that on the number of games that the coach gets kicked out of followed by game suspensions. As long as they have a good assistant coach to fill in they should be ok. Hard to coach from the lobby. He will calm down I am sure. Most do.

Completely embarrassing what happened this weekend with Saint John High School, head coach is completely out of control and so were his players. this is not the first time it has happened as players and coaches were out of line in rick cotter tournament back in December (Head coach and Player also ejected) also has happened in a Moncton Tournament (no one thrown out but technicals were given). NBIAA and Saint John High needs to come up with a bigger penalty for this coach and have him sit out multiple games. 2 player ejections 1 unsportsmanlike foul, head coach ejection, Technical foul on another player all in one game??? The Officials could have ejected other players as well from what I was told. I heard there will be a multiple game suspension coming to the coach and it would not surprise me if administration reviews this and he not allowed to coach next season. BNB should also take a look at his history when it comes to provincial teams. just a lack of class shown by Saint John High this season. something needs to be changed

My mistake. I did not want this to turn into an attack on coaches. Let's keep this thread about JV teams like it is supposed to be.

I am going by January results. Having seen both Sussex and MVHS scores in the past couple of weeks it seems MVHS is playing a bit better. Please share your top ten if you don't agree with the ones here.

Southwest
1- SJHS
2- FHS
3,4- flip a coin. KVHS or LHHS
5- Woodstock
6- Carleton North
7- Sussex
8- St Malachy,s

North East
1- Riverview
2- Bernice McnAughton
3- Miramichi
4- Moncton

My predictions for provincials are
Pool A - SJHS, Bernice and KVHS
Pool B - Riverview, Fredericton and Miramichi.

Semis
KVHS vs Fredericton
SJHS vs Riverview

Final SJHS vs Fredericton

Winner.. I would say the edge to Fredericton as they are playing at home. But I believe SJHS is the favorite.

They are the cream of the crop in AA. They will play in the final. They would both make provincials in AAA if they were in the NE. Over Miramichi. They could also beat Leo or KVHS on a good day. The sw would be a battle if they both played in that for AAA..I believe 6of the top 8 are in the sw including the AA teams.

Does anyone know how the SW & NE Jr Regionals when this pass weekend. Looking forward to some exciting basketball at FHS this weekend. With the FHS Varsity team hosting Regionals and FHS JV Hosting provincials.

Did the JV Kats make it to provincials?

SW was:

SJHS over FHS 72-71 in the 1/2 game and LHHS ove KVHS 77-70 in the 3/4 game. I think the NE just use their league results as there was no schedule on the NBIAA website.

If that is right it will be SJ, FHS and LHHS from the SW and RHS, BMHS and MHS from the NE.

They did. He was very effective, but not enough to overcome the other teams.
