This year's U17 team should be mostly made up of AA and A players, you take returning players Currie and French which are AAA. Curtis is the other returning player and he is at an A school. Paul from Leo Hayes and either under agers Lambert, point guard from FHS and maybe Kogler from MHS and that is all I can see from AAA schools making it.

Look at last year U17 went out and took and dropped boys for the ability to defend. Look what happened Bnb went back they didn't go a head . To prove what I'm saying 6 guys from Woodstock and Carlton north beat Team PEI team NS and team NB with supposedly the best players in province. The heart of those six guys and talent proved the best get cut do 2 were they come from. All double AA ball players and beat the best that team NB had.

This is a terrible argument. What point are you trying to prove?

That WVA team was U18. Barely anyone from the Woodstock/Carlton North team tried out. I think the only person who tried out and was relatively close to making it was Kruz. Who else got cut from that area that had a legitimate chance to make it?

Stating that BNB picks their team based off of location is very childish and shows just how far you are willing to reach to get some attention.

That's not really true. Throw in Vickers and Watters from MVHS and you're already at 5 AAA players, 6-7 if any underagers make it.

I apologize didn't meen it to sound like that at all but let's for once go out side the box and put heart and guts and ability to play with each other on the table best is not all ways the way to go

So a group of kids who have played together since they were 10 beat a group of kids put together for 3 months.

Lets not kid ourselves, the FHS team probably could have beaten the U17 team too.

They picked the kids who showed best at tryouts, yet almost a year later you're still bringing up the coaches choice for his roster.

Lots of good selections, going to be interesting to see how the team performs this summer! Some good players left off also that were on past provincial teams, must have been lots of competition at EDP to make the team

The WVA team had 1 u-18 AA 4 u17 AA and 1A u17 from up river that played last year. Saw 1 game at Summerfest and they were awesome. I doubt anyone cares anymore tho.

How the hell does Thomas Drummond get left off the U17 team ????

What a corrupt system BNB is. I guess all the parents will have to start making big donations to BNB if they want their kids to get a roster spot.Potatoes anyone?????

Good players left off both Provincial teams; someone has to get cut.

Seriously? You are questioning the selection of arguably the best shooter in the province. That selection is a no brainer. Much like you if you really believe what you wrote.

This, 100%.

BNBizCorrupt you've never watched a game of basketball before if you actually stand behind your pathetic arguement.

There must have been some tough close competition at the EDP's from the looks of the roster with 4 U15 players making the jump over U16 to the U17 team and 7 U16 players being cut........guess they are looking to go in a new direction.

....and for all those people who were worrying there wouldn't be enough AAA players no fears.......8 AAA , 2 AA , 2 A .

Best of luck to they boys who made the team and make your province proud!

I don't think the U17 picks indicate that BNB is "looking to go in a new direction". Actually I think the opposite is true.

There were three under age players on U17 last season (French, Currie & Curtis) and three again this year (Park, Hemphill & Baker). Eleven of the 12 players on the 2016 U17 team played for BNB last summer (3 on U17, 5 U16, 3 U15). The only exception is Corless who was invited to the final tryouts for U17/U16 last year but choose soccer instead.

The roster also seems to be a good representation of the province. There are players from AAA, AA and single A plus the picks represent the North, East, South and West regions.

- AAA North - Vickers (MVHS) & Watters (MVHS)
- AAA East - French (BMHS) & Currie (Riverview)
- AAA South - Corless (KVHS)
- AAA West - Paul (LHHS), Speedy (LHHS) & Park (FHS)
- AA South - Hawkins (Fundy) & Baker (Rothesay)
- A West - Hemphill (JCS)
- A South - Curtis (HHS)

I'm sure arguments could be made that player A should have been selected instead of player B but that is the case with any team that has ever been picked at any level. Hopefully those not selected continue to put in the work to improve this summer.

They just updated it today.

Chances are they're still waiting for players to confirm their spots on teams.

Who are you guys (Birdman 33 and Coach Red) calling the best shooter in our province? Just wondering.

He is technically supposed to be graduating this year but was held back a year, so too old.
