well student...all i can say is , that an nbiaa rep was told by the AD at ESN , that they are planning on registering boys teams for basketball at the varsity and jv level....they have been AA for two yrs now so it figures they will have to play AAA where they won't be as competitive.
Right now JMH , BHS and MVHS are in the NE conference schedule . add ESN and we have 4 teams in the north. That being said , a source from MVHS says they are doubtful to field a varsity squad (no coach and they were very weak at JV level last yr) and if they do , they will probably go exhibition....but you never know. ESN will play if they can stay AA and beat up on small schools (like their JV's did last yr....ask Hartland ;-) but won't play if they have to play schools their own size and lose.
The problem is , they have til Nov to decide and this could leave teams in the north scrambling to find games to fill out their schedules....nbiaa has to look into the registration deadlines , so teams can schedule properly...

Yes the AUC drew good crowds. Roughly 1000 per game I believe. Don't see how that translates to poor crowds else where.

Considering the Saint John Mill Rats are approaching 1000 season ticket holders already, plus the area's history of large crowds for basketball events, I think the attendance at Harbour Station for this year's Final 8 will be pretty good.

Sorry guys (heheh got my "s" fixed) but all the belly achin about St John hosting the final 8 ...waste of time...they have a great committee , great tradition , a ton of experience hosting big events and they will do a great job....the crowds will be there...it is the basketball not the venue that makes the Final 8 so special...
