Would love to hear some names on who people would rank as the top 25 players in the province heading into grade 11???

I'm not sure if I could name 25 but In particular order..
Mitch Goodwin - KSS
Braxston Bunce - KSS
Ibrahim - Brit
Isaiah Solomon - VC
Erickson (not sure how to spell his last name) -VC
Ravjot -tammy
Manny Duhlay - tammy
Manroop - south
Nick Irvince - south
Mitch K - Cowichan
Dave Manshreck - Windsor
Kyle Holden - Kits
David Burton - Kits
Cam Smythe - Tupper
Ken George
Cole Penman - VC
Cam Friesen - Mouat
Ryan Sclater -Fox
Mitch Ligertwood - Heritage Woods
Jake Newman -WRCA
maybe Nic Termansen - Carson Grahm
Nolan Hanson - College Heights - Prince George - very under the radar, one of the top guards in the province in my opinion.

I definitly forgot some guys so add anyone you think should be on here

I think some of the drive elite players like maybe Alex M or Lucas G could also make this list and I think you did a good job to include all the star players and some of the other top players who are underrated.

Yeah for sure. I've never seen very many of the Drive guys play before so I can't say to much about them. I've heard those two can ball though.

That is a terrific top 25 list that you compiled, however I disagree with your choice of Nick Atwal. A handful of players including Allan Wu, Guy Ostrovsky, and Denzel Laguerta are more complete players than Atwal. Atwal is a solid player, but I don't know if I can even say he's the best player on his own Churchill Bulldogs team.

I agree there are a few solid grade 12s on his team. The only game I have seen Atwal in this year was against Burnaby South... were his churchill team got handled but he stood out having a solid game. My choice on putting him on my list was mostly based on his outstanding performance during his junior season. Also my mistake for forgetting about Alan Wu (BYNG) I would easily replace anyone in he the bottom 15 for a player like him. Guy O (POINT GREY) May make the HM list and.. Denzel L (STM) Hasn't seemed to improve much. Besides that I think this list is pretty accurate considering I have not seen all these players play this season... Although i have in the past. Please post if I have forgotten someone that deserves to be mentioned with these players !

Also I have edited my original post.

This is a great list you compiled baller, great job. I don't agree, however with your selection of Cam Smythe being that high? He seems to be a fairly one dimensional player and the only thing working for him is his shot blocking and height. Also I believe Erickson Evangelista should be higher based on his fantastic junior season.

Cam Smythe has actually improved quite a bit. He has a very nice fade away jumper that is unblockable along with a nice right hand hook shot. He actually goes high for boards now and is one of the best rebounders in the game. Yes he needs to put on some weight but he's still young and can improve.

I also think Denzel should be on your list, hes a silky smooth guard with a great handle and an alright shot. He is small but he is a speedy guard that can find the open man at any given time. But really great job on your list, seems fairly accurate

Alright but is he currently good enough for 4th best? That is all i'm questioning. I believe he is indeed a very good player but not as good as others such as Cam (mouat), Mitch (cowichan) and Erickson (VC) to name a few.

I think the list is good and definitely encourages discussion, thanks for the time in putting it together. It is hard to rank players because of the many different types of players there are. How do you compare a post with a point guard? They have different roles and bring different things to the table. Is it overall skillset that is the criteria, value to their team or stats? I see a few players being ranked a bit low, Brunce is an example. If you were picking a team from scratch he'd go pretty high because you would own the boards if you had him. If two coaches had to pick teams from the list provided it would interesting to see where the players would be picked.

If your making a top 25 list of grade 11's, Fox's Ryan Sclater would be top 15, maybe top 10.

If I were to choose a player to build my team upon I would go for Manroop Claire. People may disagree but he is one of the purests scorers I've ever seen. His pull up is amazing, has a very good handle and can spot up. To me guards are the key for success, if you look at Palmer they start 4 guards (I wouldn't consider Zayas a forward) and do extremely well against big teams. Who would you guys choose?

I've also seen Manroop make some fantastic plays with his passing ability, mainly on his Drive team because he is over shadowed by Ater handling the ball most of the time at South. I would take him or one of the big, rebounding scorers.

I think I would take Goodwin over Clair. Overall, I think Goodwin is a better player and makes his team better. Clair is more of a scoring threat but not by much.

What I have seen in past years of Goodwin I would agree. He is a very creative player and makes the other 4 guys on the floor better. He was injured in the game I saw against Kits and was limping. I understand his game agianst VC was impressive. He fell hard on his back when dunking in warm up against Kits. Kudos to KSS for beating South without him and only loosing to RC Palmer by 7 in the finals.
If I were to create a starting five of grade 11's Clair and Goodwin would be the 1 & 2 guards. Maybe Ryan from Fox, Braxton Bunce and Nic Irvine.Ryan S is comfortable enough with the ball to play 3. Without McDonald in the line up he was as good as any other Fox player breaking South's press in the bronze medal game.

I was a bit surprised with Cam Friesen, he looked like he had trouble running, perhaps playing with an injury?

David Burton played well also and brought energy to Kits. Kits may be a force next year as Luka develops and Kyle H will be in the line up!

I believe cam has a knee injury. I heard that he tore his MCL. Perhaps it was nagging him but he played through it. I have seen him play at the junior provincials last year and he truly lead that mouat team. He was a force on offense and on defense. So i hope for a quick recovery for him for his grade 12 year.

Goodwin and Clair are both very talented. Clair is an incredible shooter with good handles as well. However, Goodwin is able to impact the game in other ways than scoring like passing, rebounding, defense and is a better leader and more vocal than Clair is. I think that Clair has the edge on shooting and overal scoring but Goodwin is stronger than Clair and is able to get to the rim and finish easier.
Ryan Sclater really impressed me last weekend. It was the first time I have seen him play and he got to the rim easily most of the time. I wonder if he will be trying out for the provincial team come April as the team needs a tall athletic wing man.

Lucas Mannes from G.W. Graham is a VERY solid player who should be on this list.

David Manshreck from windsor deserves more credit. he always gets double teamed and still drops 20 or more every game and grabs close to 20 boards a game also
