This topic says top grade 10 players and I dont know why these drive grade 9ers are promoting themselves. Just take the U15 provincial team and throw in Luka, that sums up the top grade10 players. It doesnt matter whether they play up or not. The topic is just the top players.

Look I agree thoroughly with these top 5s . But this information is useless we know jamie is great . We know luka is a force . Lets hear about some players flying under the radar and having terrific seasons as of late . Also Bball Fanatic thats just arrogant how you would even think about comparing corey to gogy, deklan , montell , or even paul or andrew . C mon nothing against corey I love his game at the grade 9 game(can shoot the lights out!) but even tristain has a long way too go before hes a star at the grade 10 level .

when Corey played VC at the Drive tourney he owned Gogy!!! what Gogy had maybe five points Corey 19 pts. (plus a victory). Gogy could not even guard corey and thats a fact not fiction! No one has owned Tristan at the grade ten level yet! he has dominated every big man out there. What does he have to do to prove he elite at the junior ball level! Mouat has compiled a 33 and three record mainly because of Corey and tristan! Ok they may have to be a little more consistent but who doesn't? Deklan is in a league of his own... thats why he is playing senior ball. andrew give me a break (ball hog). Montel Who!!! Paul lim is very good, is he not playing senior ball? Pt gaurds that are playing senior are obvoiusly better than Corey thats a no brainer! Then theres Jadon Cohee who has been lights out against anyone he has played and he is also Grade nine. Corey has pretty much had defenses playing a box & one/shadowing against him all year, and i think he has done exceptional well considering this is all new to him (special attention paid to him). There are lot of good player that are not even mentioned in this forum that go un notice that deserve reconigtion, but until I become more familiar with there names they will not be get the regonigtion they also deserve!

These are all very good players and deserve top marks no doubt. There is not one that I would not want on my team!

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Justin Buren from Centennial. Playing senior, starting and being arguable their top player this year. Seems to be doing very well against top teams as well. 20+ points against Fox as well as a tremendous showing on the Island.

Weird things happen at the drive classic of course we all know that except churchill winning wich was excpected . Look bball fanatic aka coreys dad you need to understand something . This is a forum for promoting good basketball players and teams . So I wont try to put down corey in any way because hes a terrific grade 9 basketball player but are you kidding me ? Your going to call out gogy and say corey owned him ? Gogy has proven he can play with deklan who is not on another level not even close . In fact im not sure hes the PG of his class . If I had to rank my top PGs playing grade 10 this year I have these players ahead of corey : Gogy K , Paul L , Andrew M , Mark Y , Brandon B , Tyus A . Those are arguably the best 10S playing gr 10 . Now even Jaycee P is ahead of corey and there at the same age group ! Theres one thing that stands out from the group of juniors and Jaycee and corey and its simply Toughness . I could easily be proved wrong but I beleive teams will beat up on and extremely physical with him wich will case major problems . Tristain is same story crumbles when teams are physical with him . Jadon can compete with the very best of grade 10s and much credit too the work of the walnut coaches for his development .

There you go another name that we have failed to mention! Certainly better than Corey, Andrew, Brandon.
Justin who i have seen play twice this year, has certain had a good year so far. And deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Paul, Tyus A, deklan and of coarse Gogy!

Why does it matter if he is a point guard ? Bottom line: Justin Buren is one of the top grade 10 players in the province.

3Dbball. If this forum is for promoting good basketball players why are you putting down corey, although you siad you wouldn't. Clearly teams have been physicle with corey and he still is able to put up atleast 15 pionts a night. By looking at your previous posts it's not hard to tell who you are as you talk about Mcmath alot(andrew M). Just because bb fanataic said something about you in this previous post, doesnt mean you have to go talk about how cory cant handle pressure and how he will crumbel. Corey is a great kid and I have a lot of respect for his game.

Corey is a fantastic player for a grade 9, that being said some of the things 3dbball said are true. corey doesn't take physical play well, or full court presses. I saw mouat vs pitt and he wouldn't even handle the ball on the 2-2-1 pitt came out in, he would pass it to 6'8 tristan to break the press himself. He is a little bit inexperianced at the junior level but he can sure shoot the ball exceptionally well! He will coninue to improve as the season progresses, and come provincials Mouat will be a threat!

Only one point I made is really that relevant and thats that right now in my opinion gogy is a better player thats not a knock on corey I just like his game . Lets not play the who's who game right now thats when the fights happen and we stray away from what matters most . Basketball

This is just an opinion and observation but if your going to rank junior players, the ones who are playing senior and starting/contributing to me should be at the top of the list. Those are the players who will further develop their skills playing against older, bigger and better competition.

Some of the players that play for senior they are there because their senior team is bad or because of bad basketball programs. So I think it's a bad idea to judge someone wether they play senior or not.

PostSubject: Great Quality   Fri Jan 28, 2011 4:08 pm

There are a lot of outstanding grade 9 players, as you can see by the number playing Junior. Jadon, Mindy, Corey and Tristan just to name a few high quality players. There are also some very good players who are playing in their grade, such as Will Latu at VC and Taylor Smith at Burn South. It seems the quality and level of competition is very high and the kids are fortunate for that. It simply doesn't matter who is the better player since they have different skills and size, which at this age are changing rapidly. The real proof will be in grade 12 as these kids mature in to their full potential for the next level.

The best team I've seen so far this year is wrca. I only watched them once but they really move the ball and have multiple scoring threats. Strong defence. Since I watched them play in November, I heard they have added a quality point guard as well as a 6'7" transfer (don't know name) who moved into the school. I don't think they have lost a game yet.

Kits is coming into its own and I expect they will win the vc tourney. It takes time to adjust when so much of the offence would go through Luka, and the team is now coming together.

Pitt just beat WRCA at the Pitt Jr tourney and also beat Walnut Grove in a hard fought triple o/t tilt the week before....have to say the reffing in that Pitt/WG game was some of the worst i have ever seen!!!.....Pitt scored with .4 left in the 1st O/T and the player was ruled to have travelled, when he was clearly pushed!!! Should have been 2 + 1!!!

Anyway, Pitt need to figure out how to beat Kits....top 5 right now are:

1 - Kits
2 - Kamloops
3 - Pitt
4 - WRCA
5 - VC

Enjoy!!!
