Top 10 Teams in AAA -

1. Bathurst
2. Riverview
3. Leo Hayes
4. FHS
5. KV
6. Oromocto
7. BMHS
8. Woodstock
9. Rothesay
10. St Stephen

Note that Id say as of right now the top 5 are head and shoulders above the rest, but Id keep on eye on especially Oromocto and BMHS to be battling well against the top 5.

Top 10 Players in AAA -

1. Brad States
2. Adam Spurrell
3. Matt Daley
4. Richie Wilkins
5. Josh Lafleur
6. Peter Esson
7. Jon Ryer
8. Caleb Dow
9. Jesse Balser
10. Bradley Hovey

How can we say to keep an eye on Oromocto ? They lost by 60 to LHHS who have not looked very good thus far.

60 point spread with the 4th best team isnt much of a battle!

I agree with the top five but there a couple of thing to consider.

1) FHS & KVHS football teams played until the last game which meant both teams had limited practice time together leading up to the Lion's Den tournament.

2) Riverview and KVHS are currently missing two major impact players with knee injures; Ryan Foster (KV) and Chris MacDonald (RHS). If they can return close to their pre-injury form they'll greatly improve their respective teams.

I'd also rank Jesse Basler higher than 9th. Based on his performance this summer I think he should be ahead of Jon Ryer, Caleb Dow and Josh LeFleur.

There are also a couple of grade 11 kids that should be in the conversation for top 10 AAA players. Chris Murray, Zac Chambers, Wes Durling, and Ryan Foster (when heathly).

BTW...FlagrantFouls.com has Matt Daley ranked 87th (25th PG) in the country. No other NB players on in the top 100 but they have 3 NS players (Tyler Scott #16, Marquis Clayton #56 and Mandrez Downey #59).

matt daley... very focused, makes the most of every opportunity, seeks all opportunities available. keep up the hard work dude. too bad more players here didn't see their way to work that hard
my list:
brad states, too big to drop out of #1
matt daley, need i say more
pete e, best sf in nb
cdow, body is huge
dannyz is getting his inside this yr
balzer and his team mate #9, rhs are contenders with these guys
lafleur and spurrel are decent atheletes
the huge guy from st stephen would be my last pick if he was in a competitive situation

teams:
bhs and rhs cause of their matchup at lions den
lions
fhs and we aint even rollin yet

1.Brad States
2.Matt Daley
3.Peter Esson
4.Adam Spurrell
5.Richie Wilkins
6.Jesse Balser
7.Josh Lafleur
8.Steve Ethelston
9.Caleb Dowe
10.Brad Hovey

another FYI for hoop fans...BHS beat RHS by one ( 85-84)today in Bathurst, without Daley in the line-up (shoulder injury) ...States was a monster ...42 pts , 18 boards....Doucet had 25... doucet has been beneath the radar for BHS teams might wanna start paying attention to him cause he is doin alot of good things for his team...

Matt daleys shoulder injury is a dislocated shoulder, shouldn't be out for too long. Bathurst is really showing what they have, Brad States continuously proving why he is number one. Doucet is a good shooter but not consistant. Scorers for RHS were steve ethelston and chris murray with 24 each. Chris Murray also under rated.

yea, cdow is not in that competitive a situation so he will show less. thanks for the name steve e is a nice player. and i see ritchie as having talent. but dude is so self centered that it it translating into the team. elsmore is the st stephen guy that needs to get to a serious bball opportunity. hovey is a nice playerbut no. easily guarded.

Hoop Classic ....who's in ? What is the schedule ? And big match-ups ? I know all the Moncton schools are there....right now I thinking RHS is the best team in that town...BMHS might challenge them...would be a good game to see if it happens in the tourney...

LHHS and Kv are also attending.

LHHS vs BMHS in frontt of the BMHS school on Friday afternoon
KV Vs RHS in front of the RHS school on Friday afternoon

Then Crossovers 630 and 830 @ crandell Friday night

Brad States is hardly human, heard he is headed to Acadia where he would play with fellow all-star Anthony Sears. Any truth to this rumour?

Wow , should be two great games for fans to watch...my predictions..LHHS over BMHS by less than 20.
and RHS over KV by 20+....RHS is very tough to beat at home...and this year they are tough to beat anywhere...

An FYI for folks...States has committed to Acadia , despite some enticing offers from other CIS schools ( ie Lakehead )..there he will play the 3 or the 4...be a capable back up for Sears and probably get some good minutes right away....the kid can flat out play!

Any big games or tourneys in the west or south this weekend that will be worth keeping an eye on??

Also I saw that Saint John High beat St Stephen in league play in the southern conference last night ( by 2pts) . Good win for the Greyhounds - most prognosticators consider a bit of an upset ? yes or no??

From what I have heard from talking to other players who know these kids...Daley and Wilkens have been recruited by Holland College of the ACAA...Daley has been contacted by a few CIS schools in Ontario and one from Quebec , and some CCAA schools out there...but no one in the maritimes , other than Holland College is interested...

There is a semi big game tomorrow night, FHS plays OHS in Oromocto. A chance for OHS to come back out against very high competition and see where they are after getting tromped by LHHS two weeks ago.

As for BMHS sticking with LHHS for a 20 point game, I dont know if that will happen. Althought I only seen them play St Macs I dont think they have the size or speed to keep it even with 20 with Leo Hayes.

OHS looses to FHS by about 20 points I think the score was 74-54, close game until end of third quater, they didnt let it get out of hand tho when fhs went on there run, kept it fairly close. Much better game then against LHHS when they lost by 50.

states to acadia. what a waste. unb is on the way up and they could use his athletic skill. acadia always over-recruits

States 's dad is from windsor and ,I think , an AU alum....so they had the inside track , plus are helping financially , I'm told. Besides UNB didn't ask....

Lions and Riverview are very close teams and will be contending all year. How did the final go? final score, top scorers, game changers?
