PostSubject: VC vs Mcmath- Oak Bay tournament final   Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:58 am

Must be a typo. VC definitely won and the score was 65 to 39. Their defense was solid! There is an article about the game:

Mouat has two stand out players: Pg Cory Huack who is a lights out shooter and PF/C Tristen Etienne who is 6-7 with good hands. Both players are gr9.

They seem to struggles against expiercend teams such as their game vs pitt which finished in a loss. I don't think they will contend for the title with Vc, Kits, Smus, WRCA, and Pitt but u never they could be a darkehorse to win the title we will see.

Echibition game at Mouat.

Mouat 51 Churchill 46
after first quarter 20 to 3 Mouat. mouat played entire bench and led start to finish! Mouat starting five appears to be better than churchills at least tonight it was quite evident!

Mouat seems to have churchill's number this year, already beating them twice (once at churchill).

With all due respect to sport victoria, the only apology should be to the kids who work so hard and with such passion for the game of basketball and their schools are being not given fair rankings.
Rankings should be about results, plain and simple, no excuses for losses (unless injury to key starter).

I truly feel sorry for Kelowna, Winston Churchill and others who in the past month have done much more than others ranked higher. Lets put our egos aside and be objective. If some of these teams didnot come from big name schools, and we objectively looked at their results, their would different rankings.

Too much weight is being put on the big name schools, rather than their current form. For instance, I am informed Kelowna travelled to the coast and beat Pitt, Burnaby South and another school. But why is Pitt ranked higher? Then another post stated the case for Churchill, who should be in the top five. What more do they have to do to earn people's respect and why is kitts ranked higher based on current form

Maybe rankings just look more legitimate with the big name schools, I don't know. I have nothing against anyone, but it seems there is a great deal of bias, which is unfortunate.

I think WRCA should be 2nd ranked right behind VC.

Could someone please break down the top 15 and list their wins/losses till jan 12. Or just the losses of the top 10, as it will probably illustrate my point of people not wanting to look beyond certain schools and see the big picture. We owe it to the kids and this is who this is about.

WRCA beats tweedsmuir by 4 or 5. White rock had a strong 1st half being up by 15 or so at the break. Tweedsmuir fought hard in the 2nd half and made it a game late in the fourth. WRCA played brutal in the 2nd half. Showing little intensity and they must of thought hey had the game in the bag. That's when Tweedsmuir is dangerous, when teams take them for granted. Overall it was a great fight by tweeds but the better team won.

just clearing this up, justin wong on burnett is suppended for the rest of the year for unknown reasons. With him out, burnett scoring is lost a bit with him out.

One more quick note is that tyus Allan is the real deal, played quite well tonight. Peter spangel cleaned up the boards but vartin and Sam didn't bring their a game tonight. Expect if these two teams meet up again WRCA takes it by a larger margin.

Smart act on the part of Whiterock. Their senior team is so weak that they wont even make out of valley this year. So they decided to take a shot at the junior banner by bringing him down but by doing so they hurt his development.

I always enjoy watching white rock at the AgroDome. Seems they always have 2 or 3 grade 9 or grade 10 players starting, or rotating in and they did really well. Maybe the new coach has different philosophy on player development. Why would Tyus Allen play Jr ? Can only think he was not playing on the senior team as much as he would like and wanted to play with his friends.

I have seen the wrca senior team play once or twice and Tyus did start but after he was taken iff he didn't play that much more, so I think he came down because of playing time.

Mouat 49 - Walnut Grove 47
This one needed overtime to decide it. Mouat played the game with two starters out of the line with the flu.
Jadon Cohee got bench in second half for taken a technical foul. Very close game and maybe the best game I have watched this year! Walnut Grove is legit and will compete with all the top teams.
