St Georges went into #7 Dover Bay's gym and won by 13 leading the whole time. How good are they? And will they go far?

saints may be good but Dover Bay could also be ranked too high. Who have they beat to earn the #7 spot?

Dover beat Fox, who didn't have MacDonald or Hind in the lineup.

It will be interesting to see the rankings this week. Fox beats Kelowna. VC beats Fox. Kelowna beats Pitt. Tupper beats Kelowna. VC beats Tupper in OT. Pitt beats Tammy. White Rock plays really well in losses to Pitt and Tupper. Lots of close games and a great weekend of hoops at VC. Not sure how other ranked teams played this week but based on the results at the Emerald one may argue that it will be tough to pick a winner in this years Provincials.

PostSubject: Possible Standings    Sun Jan 23, 2011 6:10 pm

Just a guess on my part:

1. RC Palmer
2. Burnaby South
3. Vancouver College
4. Terry Fox
5. Pitt Meadows
6. Kelowna
7. Sir Charles Tupper
8. Enver Creek
9. TIE Kitsilano
9. TIE North Delta
10. St. George's

HM: Dover Bay, Carson Graham, Walnut Grove, Heritage Woods, Tamanawis

Tupper beat kelowna so they should be switched, but other wise I agree with your prediction of the rankings.

I thought of that but Tupper being an HM, Kelowna at 2, I figured you can't move Tupper up THAT much or drop Kelowna that much.

Tupper was tied in 10th. 7 or 8 makes sense. Tammy should be 9. Kits Enver creek in 10th.
Kelowna lost two close ones but still lost 4 or 5 makes sense. Overall its wide open. No easy games in top 15 plus. Also WR should be HM. Played well this weekend.

Saints may be HM at best. Have not played in any big tournaments and have played enough good teams. Dover is a puzzle as well. How have they earned their ranking?

Kelowna beat Pitt, and lost to Fox with out their top scorer Truss. I would switch 4 and 5. Maybe KSS at 4th? Tupper is a definite top 8 this week. They are a nice team to watch so hopefully they continue to play with energy.

Even though Kelowna lost two games, they did not have DeBoe Truss. As well, you have to keep in mind that they beat Van College by 38 with their whole squad at Leagle Begal

i think its close but i would think Kelowna should be ahead of Pitt. As for playing without toip players i heard Howard on CKNW on this topic last week when Fox was moved to 6th because of their loss to Dover and the loss of Macdonald and Hind does not matter when deciding on rankings.

Its going to be very good ball as there are about 8 teams that have a legitimate chance

You're right. VC is definitely better than Saints' Seniors this year. VC grade 12s are really good this year compared to saints (who really don't have a good crop of grade 12s).

However, Saints definitely will win the battle of the grade 11s, so next year should see their fortunes reverse.

Put enver up against some real competition they've been playing all average teams besides there one big win they had over tamanawis id like to see them against terry fox or other teams in the valleys they've been dodging this year

Saints are solid. They got robbed with the amount of berths given to independent schools. Horrible on the planners part.

Sorry i dont see it... not overly impressed. I dont see that they have much in size unless they have size in grade 10. Sajen Gill has been a dissapointment . I think he developed in grade 8 and hasnt grown since then. He is a good player but not a dominate player. They still have to get by College and College will be strong next year as well

Sajen was recruited ( with his older brother ) after the grade 8 season from Port alberni. He was dominate back then but hasnt grown much ( if at all ) still a good player but there are alot of good players. I think with all the money St Georges has spent on him i think they hoped for more
