thoughts on teams that flew under the radar throughout the season and picked it up at playoffs?

I was happy to see Southern Vic go as far as they did, and i know that Moffit was hurt and blah blah blah but they were within a point of beating Mcadam a week ago.

I was surprised at how well the east teams did (in the girls at least) during the playoffs. Cal made it to the final 4. Petty took GM to 6 points in a game that I thought they should win. I know Petty was down by 18 and brought it back with their press but the decision by their coach to take the press off when Jessica left the floor with her injury probably ended up costing them the game as it was only a couple point game at that point and petty had the momemtum. Had they kept on pressing IMO Petty would have won... but we will never know. Those are the 2 surprise runs imo.

Belleisle did well for the east (despite the game against devon park) nobody predicted them to make it past the first round..

I wa also preety happy to see Oromocto play well and go fairly far in playoffs. Would love to see them improve over the next few years, and start competeing with FHS and Leo Hayes.

although RNS is a pretty brutal team, they have improved since the beginning of the year. for example when they played campo at the beginning of the year they lost by fifty but when they played them at the end of the season they only lost by around 15

Like I said, it was just rumors. I heard it from a source within the Cal basketball system over the Christmas break. All they told me was that her mother had been in to discuss it with BMHS... I know nothing more than that, I hope she does stay as I do not like when players jump to a AAA school. I like to see the smaller school succeed.
