Fox 71 - Heritage 69..

Great game as Fox came from behind down 5 points with 20 seconds left. Full court pressure defence and a couple of stolen balls and Fox pulled it out. No flow to the game thanks to very inconsistent refereeing. Who know maybe a third game at the Provincials between these 2 rivals..Would love to see it

So Tammy plays Fleetwood does the winner go to the Provincials or is this it for Tammy?

Update. At this point, anyone still playing is going to Provincials. It's all about seeding now. Finals and consolations are set. Waiting for stockstonshorts predictions...

Looks like the FV North was the tougher league this year with 4 teams advancing to the Provincials. Should be some great games for the final seeding spots.

It's going to be tough to match my scores from the last two nights but I'll give it a go. Rolling Eyes Here are my picks for Thursday...

Semis
FOX
MOUAT

BC Berths
PITT
FLEETWOOD
GLENEAGLE
TAMANAWIS (my disclaimer here is that if tammy's PG Manny does not recover from his injury it could be Seaquam)

Good luck to all teams, especially those fighting for a spot at the BC's.

Okay, so I guess I got lucky again. 6 for 6 on my latest round of picks brings the 3 day total to 21/22 cheers Forgot to give you my early picks for Friday but here goes for Saturday

I think you can make the argument that The 4 North Valley teams are the 4 hottest right now.

Bad refs cost the game for Heritage at the end. 69-64 and Macdonald had the ball stolen from him at mid-court but heritage defender was called for a foul. So instead of being up 5 and heritage going to the line for FT's, Fox went to the line and made 2 but more importantly was able to set up their press and get two quick steals. LET THE KIDS PLAY!!!!! Trigger happy refs are the worst thing about basketball in BC.

I agree with you regarding the refs. Just a horrible game. They took all flow out of the game for both teams. These boys put in so much time to get to this point its a shame when refs take over... Great win for FOX.. sets them up well for Provincials

i don't think it was a great game for fox. they were outplayed for the majority of that game. heritage deserved the win minus some silly mistakes at the end of the game.

A couple notes from the fox vs herritage game
1. Herritage deserved to win
2. The reffing was very inconsistent, BUT in reference to another comment, from my angle the steal was a foul
3. Fox got lucky. They should have been fouling at the end of the game, however, Herritage just kept giving the ball away
4. Fox really misses Matt Trimble. He is their leading rebounder, their inside presence, and a definate leader on that team
5. Taylor Heinreich was excellent. Coach Martin gets a lot out of this group of kids
6. How did Fox only manage 6 points in the 2nd quarter, yet had 27 in the first Q.

A lot of credit to both teams for battling hard all game.

Good luck to Herritage vs. Grove tonight.. I have a feeling Grove takes it. As for Fox vs. Mouat, look for Brett to step it up tonight, Fox wins by 7.

I agree about the reffing in the Fox vs Heritage game - the female ref called an inordinate number of fouls against Fox during the game. I thought if anyone got the short end of the stick in the game it was Fox. Heritage should have won, but they choked at the end of the game. I thought Dadfar was the difference in the game for Heritage.

If a team makes costly and "stupid" (ie. not "smart" plays) mistakes at the end of a game, do they really deserve to win??
